We live kind of far away in Chicago. We tried to visit the service today but became caught in a snow storm near Ohare airport. We decided to stay close to our area. The church is huge & I love a lot of room. Nice church, good parking lot & great clean restrooms. Last time the church had home made chocolates from Lambs Farm! (We had not attended any church prior to that besides when we were growing up) We were blessed through that car show and in chatting with Tim Chinn (Discipleship Pastor) to discover The Village Church of Bartlett. The Lead Pastor, Michael Fuelling, is fabulous as he incorporates the true word of God and the bible but he also has a relatable realness that comes out in every sermon, along with a little humor (WE LOVE!) but most importantly for the first time in our lives learning about the bible has come to life, as it has been most understandable through Michael's sermons! I had sporadically gone to some very large churches that QUICKLY scared me away, but my husband and I agree that The Village Church of Bartlett is our home and we have never felt more welcomed! I had attended a few different churches in the Schaumburg area, but never really connected to any of them. I had also gotten very jaded about churches in general. (too many news stories about preachers with BMWs and mansions...) A neighbor of ours told us that Waterfront gives 100% of their offerings to people in need. (salaries and expenses are raised separately) They don't even have a building and were renting space from the local high school on Sunday mornings. My family attended a service and were taken by how friendly everyone was. Most of the congregation and the small church staff introduced themselves to us and the service itself was not too preachy for me. We enjoyed it enough to keep going and it quickly became 'our' church. My young son loves the children's program and looks forward to going every week. Eventually the service moved to a different location and switched to Saturday at 5:00PM. A year later I love going to Waterfront and every time I go it is like being at a family reunion where only the relatives you like show up! The whole mission of the church is "loving God and people well" and you can really tell that's what they are trying to do. If you are looking for a Church, this is the place to go. If you aren't looking for a church but want to meet some really nice people, this is still the place to go. We have been attending here for over 3 years, and I can say that my family and I have found our people here. I have been able to grow in my faith with meaningful messages and intentional community. They are really family friendly. We have two kiddos (4 & 8) and they love going to kids church, where they have age appropriate teachings and get to connect with friends. You can also keep your kids in the service (some folks do!) if you or they are more comfortable with that. They have free coffee & donuts every week so if you're running late don't worry about grabbing coffee before you leave. As you walk in, the church has a modern Christian feel. The church space was a former brewery and restaurant, but you wouldn't have guessed, they made it work. They are very friendly and welcomes new guest with a smile! They offered free coffee and water and it looks like you can also bring your own beverage into the service area. The music can be a bit loud but they also provide free ear plugs as needed in the front entrance. The service area is two floors. The 2nd floor is open so you can see the stage when you are looking down. The singers and live music was pretty good. They even had the words of the songs on the 3 jumbo screens so you can sing along as loud as your heart desires! They have a pastor who spoke with heart and you can relate to the message, funny guy. They even had video clips, props that keeps you engaged that you will laugh and shed some tears during the service. No judgement here everyone seems to be open and friendly. They even have people if you wish for a personal prayer after service if you need it. Overall, it was a good experience. Want to connect with God and be part of an Elgin Christian church? The church has containers of free ear plugs for people who don't enjoy loud, enthusiastic worship music. The words for the worship songs are on screens at the front of the church to make it easy for people to sing along. The Pastor (Dan Alarcon) is very warm, spiritually mature, and funny. His messages are clear and easy to understand. Pastor Dan, or "P.D." as some people call him, uses video clips and other visual aids to keep the audience interested and following along during the sermons. My husband and I continue to attend and to appreciate this church and the people who attend it. Of course, since the COVID-19 crisis hit Illinois, Discovery Church has followed all of the Governor's recommendations. The church has recently begun meeting again on Sundays, but are seating individuals, couples, and family groups six feet apart from one another. My husband and I heartily recommend this church to anyone searching for spiritual guidance, friendship, and human connections. The church offers mid-week classes and groups. There's something for everyone at Discovery Church (DC)!

It's all very cozy and friendly and warm. I love the atmosphere. I go to many different churches as I'm training from ministry, but this is my favorite option. My favorite part is the worship. Beautiful songs, you feel the Holy Spirit move. Hands get raised. The worship leader is the beat I have seen. Jordan really outs his love for God into it. It's by far my favorite worship service of all the church's I have been to which is over 10 total. The pastor is a Godly man who teaches the word boldly and breaks it down in detail to easily understand. He has good humor and makes everyone laugh at times. He not only teaches the Bible but does what the Bible says. He does alter calls, anointing with oil, laying hands on those who need healing, prayer.... I could go on and on and I have not attended for that long. But it is becoming my home church I finally found one after years of looking. God is doing great things here, come try it out you won't regret it. I have invited many guests here and they all love it each time and a few have had their lives changed here.

They have statues where you can light real candles for $3 below them. Other places have those electronic ones which makes it seem cheap and unholy. They have English mass at 9 and 11:30 am. There's a Spanish mass at 1 pm. The parking is about a block away at their school. There's also parking behind the church.
