The former Coast guard Headquarters on Governor's Island, Ellis Island and Liberty Island are distinct and the Staten Island ferry shuttles from the Battery to Staten Island. Quite an experience on a bright sunny day. I have used The Learning Tree at locations throughout the US and this particular NYC location is the best. The classrooms are spacious and fully set up with computer and projection services. Easels, chart paper and whatever one needs for a seminar, class or business meeting is readily available. A very full breakfast buffet is set every morning with lots of pastries, hard-boiled eggs, cheeses, bagels and lots of other breads. Coffee is available all day. In the mid-afternoon an array of snacks are put out along with soft drinks. These are part of the package available to participants using the facility. The tech people are there and very busy every morning and of particular note is Dwayne who has saved my bacon a number of times. I remember his, but am not taking away from the rest of the tech staff that are outstanding and wonderfully responsive. The manager is on top of everything and sees to it that her staff are there to assist and make everyone happy. In the early morning there are people sitting at a large table labeled with all the activities going on that day. Participants register, get their welcome packages and are directed to their classrooms. Very efficient. These services allow program leaders to concentrate on setting up and preparing their rooms without having to greet and accommodate participants until it is time to begin. A very fine operation and I look forward to using it again.

About 11 women and myself descended upon this place to make stuff with wood, while snacking on cheese and sangria. Now I know what you're thinking...you're making something...out of wood? I was thinking the same thing. Buuuuuttt I was pleasantly surprised. 1. The women that worked here and guided us were amazeballs. To wrangle our group of chatty cathies is hard to do but they did. Whenever we needed guidance on a paint color, technique, which way to sand etc...they were right there with a smile. 2. The amount of projects to chose from is extensive. You had porch signs, picture holders, lazy Susan's, and a wood circle thing (mine...lol). It could be super simple with 1 or 2 words or a bold pattern like mine 3. The shop itself is beautiful!!! I loved everything... unwanted to move into the bathroom. The apron holders were hammers... just super creative. Whoever designed the store...please come to my house and work your magic. I loved the entire experience...I plan on going back to make the chunky blanket. I may even come back to this location because the women were awesome.

I've always loved painting and have never done wood-work before. Salina was so nice in helping us set up our Friday night event and made sure we knew what to expect going into it. We were even able to bring our own drinks and snacks! Although not to worry, they do have some for purchase as well. We each picked our projects ahead of time ranging in price from $55-$85. I was a bit taken back by the price but I promise you it was worth it. For 3 hours we were assisted with our projects from start to finish. Mackenzie was wonderful in explaining all of our design options in terms of staining, painting, choosing colors, sanding our wood, stenciling.... pretty much the whole nine yards. The other girls helping out needed a bit more training/experience in my opinion. While my project was definitely more difficult than I had expected, I had a blast and was in love with the final product. You are able to customize your design to make it your own and I really could not wait to hang up my piece in my apartment. Since the class I have already looked up projects that I want to make in the future and can't wait to do so!

This warm and kid friendly mood continues as you enter the door and is a wonderful reflection of Ms. Lori as a person and teacher. She is warm, genuinely cares for her students' progress and always has a positive outlook. Ms Lori, an ivy league graduate and an expert in Orton Gillingham technique, is very organized and purposeful with her teaching methods and is able to show how progress occurred in each session. Ms. Lori worked with my son for the past three months and has ignited his passion for reading. My son's enrichment time with Ms. Lori has meet and exceeded our expectations. We are very enthusiastic to continue with Ms. Lori at Majic Carpet Learning in the school year.

(I'm writing reviews of all three in case anyone is comparing Korean class options.) Fuller review to come, as I haven't taken enough classes to form a really specific impression. However, the Korea Society definitely has the largest proportion of heritage Korean learners (aka Korean-Americans), which influences the teaching methodology and class vibe. I think the the most advanced class here is significantly more advanced than the most advanced classes at the other two language schools I've attended. I think this is probably the best option for heritage learners who grew up hearing or speaking some Korean at home.

There was a simple miscommunication when it came to his diapers (super minor) and the teacher rectified it right away and contacted me to clarify/discuss. The teacher and/or school are always reaching out, even for something simple, to keep me and my husband apprised and informed. We appreciate this so much and truly find it to be a reflection of those they hire to nurture and educate the children. We find their COVID protocols very well followed, and we're not nervous sending our son here a few days a week. The staff, teachers and administration always greet us at pick up/drop off and make us feel like our sons going to a special place and loved. In reference to the other comment on curriculum, they're under 2 years. They are just getting acclimated to going to school, let alone the ability to do a true art masterpiece. I think that's a bit unrealistic when it comes to an expectation of artistic ability at that age. Our son has come home with some really great art projects and we're really happy with his progress being he's not even 18 months old. He's learning so much already and we're grateful. Overall, we're very happy with Ridgewood Montessori and will continue to send our son for years to come (as long as everything stays as great as it's been!). In addition, once our daughter is age appropriate we would love to continue the legacy with her attendance as well. Thanks RW for a great experience and for showing our son love, attention, and teaching him every week. We're proud to be part of this school!
