There are about half-a-dozen Montessori programs in Lexington but absolutely NONE like Providence. I almost didn't want to preview the school due to the cost, but I decided to do so in order to view it as a benchmark. Unfortunately, once I stepped on the grounds I absolutely fell in love with the campus (which is about 5 acres, or so). The quality of the program, teachers, and personal attention is worth every penny! Although there are a couple other "good" Montessori schools in town, there is a very big difference between the Providence and the rest of them. We realized it was a large financial commitment, but the interviews we had with the school director, one of the teachers, and past parents made us realize that this school offered something very special. Our daughter is definitely above average in her verbal and certain other skills, but in just one month at Providence her various skill developement was astonishing. We also just had our first Parent-Teacher conference which even amazed my husband (and he took some convincing to go to the investigative interviews). Our experiences so far have proven to us that for the little extra cost over what your average daycare/preschool charges, you can get something so extraordinary that the decision is a no-brainer. I think the best testimony to the school is my daughter; she LOVES going to school!!!! Not that she was ALWAYS kicking and screaming when we went to her previous school....but she has NOT ONCE said "I don't want to go to school today". Just after a week of going there she insisted that I sneak into her classroom with her after school so she can show me all the cool "toys" she has played with that day. She's so proud of her school! We are now very excited about our son starting their toddler program there next fall. And even more so, we are thrilled to have the first Montessori High School coming here next year!!!

I'm at the school a lot whether it's with my kid or with my dance team. Although it seems clean,…read moreit's an older building with several issues. The gym is big. It accommodates several people. It shows the history of the different athletic achievements. There's a really nice trophy case that's full of accomplishments! The cafeteria seems to hold different sport team practices at the same time as well as hallways and anywhere else athletes can find a place to practice. The school is huge, but looks like it possibly has a leak and mold issue. It's interesting that this school doesn't have 2 gyms like most in Fayette County. Overall, the campus is huge and an elementary and middle school shares its location. I think it just needs upgrades for the students and teachers sake.

My middle daughter goes here and we love it. The school is for our neighborhood and it has a lot of…read moregood kids, good teachers and staff etc. They are are big in security which I love bc I have been to many schools and daycares that say their big on security but their not. They always have a lot of really cool events and activities for the kids and families. I look forward to another great year at this school for my daughter.

The staff makes you feel so confident your child will be safe and learning how to safely swim! I wish I got my kid in here a year ago. A little pricey upfront but they run specials every month to keep your kid going in classes. The water is clean and warm and there is intense supervision over the water. Such an excellent program for kids to learn to swim!

I've been here for several charity events, social events, and kid oriented events. First off,…read morethrough all of these, the staff is always wonderful, knowledgeable about the exhibits , and seem to have fun at their jobs. Plus the building, a castle looking building, is a great location to enjoy the exhibits and the old architecture of the house. It's beautiful and neat inside and outside. I enjoy the variety of exhibits they bring in and how they tend to showcase local artists. I believe there is artist space upstairs that I assume can be rented but I'm not sure of that. Most recently I brought my boys ages 7&8 for leaf printing. They had a lot of fun making the prints and coloring stamps. They had a great time. After we wandered over to the small park to the side of the house and they played on the jungle gym equipment. Further up the hill on the same grounds is the Castlewood pool and a splash pad for those hot days. Definitely worth checking out.
