Since before it was…read morebuilt, and through to the present day, they have run charity shops throughout the area, first to raise money to build the facility, and now to help run it. This one is right next to the Tesco Express, and right near the bus stop (R70, 285 and R68). This is a nice little charity shop with friendly staff, though with a few unfriendly signs (telling punters they don't bargain on price, amongst others). The shop window is attractively laid out, though the interior is a bit higgledy-piggledy - not quite as tidy as Oxfam or Princess Alice shops tend to be. There is a mix of clothes, a few books and videos and knick knacks - it's not a big shop, so you won't necessarily be browsing for long (and it's near a couple more charity shops - Hampton Hill High Street has more than its fair share), but you may well find a bargain. I've donated as well as bought, and the staff always seem pleased to receive your cast offs. This is a worthy charity, and a better breed of charity shop.

But I had lots of questions about the condition which I did not get answered in my session with the consultant on the NHS. I found the cardiomyopathy association website http://www.cardiomyopathy.org/ which has great information on it. There is a forum where I have asked many questions and got a lot of answers an support from. They also do a lot of fund raising on the website. My wife is running the London marathon and going to raise money for Cardiomyopathy. It provides a great online community and support function for many people. Cancer ResearchUK is one of the nicer charity shops in Abingdon…read more They have a lovely selection of clothes and accessories in different sizes, and also stock books, jigsaws and other household items. Their window display is always beautifully presented, and the layout of the shop is nice and not too cluttered. They also dont seem to have that musty smell that some charity shops seem to have.

Clothing, books, toys, handbags, footwear, bric a brac, shop constantly changes, prices are very reasonable and you can quite often pick up a bargain. They also have a selection of new Christmas Cards, decorations and gift ideas. Clothing is nicely presented and clean and ironed. The volunteers in the shop are always very friendly and chatty. We also take any unwanted items to one of these shops in Tring as they are worthy charities, they sometimes have too many donations but mainly are happy to accept any donations.

Some charity shops are like a jumble sale, but this isn't, it is definitely worth a look They have clothes, shoes, handbags, books, toys, games and nicknacks. Everything seems in good condition. I regularly donate things to this shop, and as I drop the things off I have a quick look around to see I if can get some goodies!! The staff are very friendly and are most grateful for donations! This is a great place to pick up bargains for the kids, and yourself too, and it is nice to support such a good cause.
