However, the amount of care and personal attention that's my daughters got here was amazing, all of that in a very clean, perfectly organized environment that prepared both of my daughters to continue and excel in excellent private schools. We As parents were very happy and I am planning to put my third daughter in when she comes of age. I think the best testimony to the greatness of the school is my oldest daughter memory. Even today, she claims that the real difference in her education was her kindergarten years and she still remembers all teachers dearly.

Is your child is an active explorer? Curious, kind and always in motion? This school is not for…read morethis type for sure. We started out with great hopes but the underlying problem of this school surfaced pretty fast. This is a one-person show and the rest of the teachers and aids are changing very fast. The Montessori method is great but keeping children sitting on the line for an extended period of time is simply unacceptable. Also, each time when they line up for any activity they have to stand motionless otherwise they won't participate in any activity. Her solution - sit back on the line. So what are they doing all day?! Nothing! Young children should never experience such harsh treatment. This woman shows no genuine emotions towards the children. Her only way to manage the classroom is by screaming and yelling. Harsh verbal discipline (HVD) is scientifically proven to be harmful therefore it is a wrong choice to keep the children under control. The last drop before we pulled out when we realized the water bottle was almost full in the lunch box after a whole day in school. Imagine your child was neglected without drinking for more than 6 hours. Extremely disappointing experience! No trust what so ever! Oh, and your children's vocabulary will pick up a few new expressions such as: "I am overwhelmed with you"; "Shut your mouth!"; "Be quiet" and "It is your fault". Isn't that great!? I am very happy that I could save my child from this bad energy and harmful environment.

My child was constantly getting removed from classes and we were being told she couldn't sit still in a Montessori which was odd. We kept having constant meetings about him and it just became overwhelming for her and our family. We eventually had to remove her from the school and go into public. The teachers are lovely but are not trained to deal with all types of children which is sad. We also had all services in place for her and with that they still needed help to handle a 1st grader. My best decision was to remove her from a school that kept correcting everything about her.

Teachers and care takers are the GOLD of this place - the ones who truly tried their best and make your child happy there! Your experience as a parent - 1 star only, there is nothing gold about it, especially, when you are the kind of a parent who asks questions. Do you want to be afraid of asking a question ? You are feeling like being bullied for your money. There is no two way conversation. Person who is talking to you at the front door does not know anything about your child progress or any other aspects of your child ups and downs. The only matter that person good at - "ruling" everyone around without any respect involved. Listening is not part of his job; fighting back, get offensive, threatening you - this is his style. You are asking why all of a sudden extra $ 100 for supplies is demanded from parents - the answer : " I do not want to talk about it, either you pay or you out!", you are curious what kind of supply they are going to buy ? - the answer : " You do not need to know, we KNOW what we need money for." You say " Let me think about it..." and you getting one more blow " in your face" - " there is nothing to think about , WE are giving you one week notice to quit our day care!" and he shots the door right in your face without even consider to listen to whatever you want to say. We want our children to be bilingual and we're thrilled that both have entered a dual language english/Spanish program. We also love that fact that this is an IB school that focuses on 21st century skills. Last but not least, the school hired a COVID consultant and reorganized the entire school in order to be able to have children on premises and meet social distancing standards. Although they do have a remote option, this thankful parent is thrilled to drop the kids off at real school every morning.

Last summer our family relocated to New York City and began the impossible task of finding housing…read moreand a great school for our children who were entering kindergarten and third grade in the fall. We visited a number of schools and sought the the advice of countless friends and family before finally being introduced to Pine Street school. We attended an informational social which gave us the opportunity to meet faculty, parents, students, and learn more about the IB program and curriculum - we were blown away by the enthusiasm of the teachers, the global exposure the students had, and the close knit community we encountered there. But it was our children's response that really informed our decision to apply as they were eager to spend more time with everyone they met that evening and excited to learn more about the school. Fast forward to today and we couldn't be happier with the decision that we made. Pine Street School truly supports the whole child: the curriculum is rigorous and engaging, and we visibly see how they are preparing our children to go out and make a difference in the world. Students go on more field trips than any other school I've encountered - they really make sure that they have an opportunity to go out and experience the world. It is apparent that the thoughtful approach to learning supports the development of our children intellectually, emotionally, and socially and we couldn't be more pleased. And they continue to impress us and exceed our expectations, especially during this unprecedented time where our children need more love, support and consistency than ever; they are the only school that I know of that offers 4.5 hours of synchronous learning each day while school is physically closed due to social distancing! Incredible! They have managed to maintain the academic standards and preparation that we've become accustomed to during this challenging time: it doesn't get more committed than that. I could go on forever but will stop by thanking Pine for continuing to reaffirm why we made the best decision possible by enrolling both of our children. Thank you!
