Came here for the wedding of a friend from college. This is a beautiful church and there's plenty of parking.

I have attended Friends Church for 15 years and have been through many pastor changes. I have…read morealways enjoyed whatever the current pastors have brought to the church, no matter how different. However, with our current pastor I have never been so excited about the direction of the church. Our pastor has a heart to follow God and take the rest of us along for the ride. His sermons are biblical and relevant. Watch a podcast, they are posted on the whfriends.org (they are listed under "Latest Message") and see for yourself. Is the pastor entertaining, yes he is, and forgive him for that, it's the gift God gave him. If you can look past having a good time (a little sarcasm) the message will blow you away. God created us all so different and he created pastors different too, so that they can reach God's varied people. I pray that you can find the Pastor/church that helps you grow biblically! Friends Church has so much to offer aside from the sermons. Growth groups/ Discipleship classes/ (Sunday School, for all ages, even seniors), these groups range from studying books of the bible, recovery groups, to marriage classes ect! They have church for the disabled, called "Just As I Am." They have special events all the time, volunteer opportunities/ mission work, men's, women's and student retreats and "Night's out." Friends wants you to have community! I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. Friends is a place you want to go to and keep coming back to, because JESUS is there! P.S. I forgot to mention the new children's Sunday School Bible curriculum......All I can say is, I wish I still had children this age so we could experience it together as a family. Beth Kirtland

He is good man that preaches the gospel with conviction. I challenge anyone who is sincerely seeking the Lord to attend church here and feel the Lord touch your heart. WHFC is a great place to call home.

This church continues to amaze me, even after nearly 40 years. The theology is sound, the preaching…read moreis first rate (engaging, thoughtful, challenging, and even inspiring), the music program is extraordinary (diverse styles, masterfully performed, and appropriate to the various moods of worship - you'll even hear people in the congregation singing in parts), the children's programs are large and lively and provide solid ground for growing, adult ed classes are challenging and well-attended, and the members are uniformly friendly. (Well, sometimes I haven't had enough caffeine and don't look as happy as I should. But I'm an exception.) We raised our kids here, and hope you will, too. This church community has long been made up of people seeking: social justice, a place to contemplate their own faith journey, a place to worship, a place to belong, a place to be. We don't promise that God will save your life, though sometimes that does happen. We do promise that God loves you just the way you are - short, tall, white, brown, black, straight, gay, determined, confused, lost, found, or however else you describe yourself. We will welcome you the same way - just as you are. And if you are changed by being here, then we know God loves you that way, too. And so will we.

A few things about what we do: We have lots of opportunity for education about the Bible and about modern issues that call for faith-based response from Christians and all people of faith. We have a marvelous music program, including many types of music -- classical, world music, jazz, some contemporary gospel -- with choirs for preschoolers, children, youth, and adults. Our choir director/ organist Anne Wilson even composes some of the music! And we encourage all members to discover their own call to actively engage in service in the community at large. So we have groups of members working together to provide food to our neighbors in need, and to grow a community garden, and to help a community in Haiti, and much much more. Come and see!
