The service was very traditional, which we like. The sanctuary architecture of this church was beautiful. We visit this area a few times a year and hope to participate in their church again. Their Sunday services are noted for inspiring sermons, beautiful music, and loving fellowship. There's an excellent staff with a dynamic rector, a deeply spiritual deacon, a gifted organist, and a delightful choir. The office seems well run and there's a highly rated pre-school. I got the sense that the friendly and intelligent congregation welcomed all -- young and old, singles and couples, gay and straight, traditional and nontraditional families, the certain and the questioning, and those of every ethnic and racial background. The majority are from Marc Chagall. One is by Henri Matisse. Tour cost is $10 per person and approx.30 minutes. You can purchase tickets online. The docents are wonderful and so informative. I'm no authority on Southern Baptist churches but this church is exactly what I think of when I…read morethink "Southern Baptist". While I'm not a huge fan of these types of churches, only because of their service lengths, this one is one of the better baptist churches I've visited. Parking lot is fairly large and building has two floors with rooms, offices and a decent size sanctuary. This church seems to have a large number of woman leaders and possibly a female lead pastor from what I can tell. I mention the female leadership population because that actually may matter for some old school church goers. I took my kids in tow and they normally are shy but really warmed up to the instructors in charge of the children ministry though there didn't seem to be a whole lot of children during my visit so I'm not sure how large or strong the children ministry really is. It was Spring during my visit and the building was fairly warm which I have to say seems to be common in the several Baptist churches I've visited in the past. It seems they intentionally keep the place lacking of air conditioned which I have no clue why. Either they are broke and can't afford air conditioning or it's a tactic to keep people alert. I believe it may be the latter because the building clearly had a ventilation system in place. Not a bad church overall and I'd rate it a 3.5 only because the service was close to FOUR hours when I visited. The lady that seemed to be the leader mentioned it's normally not that long so I'm guessing it may be more like 3 hours but damn that's still long. :o)
