They are truly part of our family sadly, they spend more time with our kids during the week than we do- but I'm ok because I know they love them as much as we do! My original review was from 2/29/2020 while my daughter was going to this school. The parent board…read moreat that time was wonderful. At the time, I felt shocked that a Co-Op could work so well with parents "running" the organization. Apparently, my feelings were justified because I recently found out that the current parent board let go of the teacher who throughout my (now 4) years of knowing her has always had the kids' best interests at heart and is a sweet and caring person. We continued to donate toys and books to the classroom because she was always looking to improve the things they had to play with and read. I can no longer endorse this school or the board that runs it. I do NOT take reviewing lightly as I know there can be some grumpy people out there who just love to complain so this is NOT one of those situations. The current 2023-2024 parent board does not align with my idea of child friendly/parent friendly/moral compass pre-school. I want to be clear that I have no kids at this school anymore, but the response from parents whose kids were recently in this teacher's attendance is just as shocked and disgusted by this decision as I am. No one seems to understand the reason behind this action (including the teacher), which is disturbing to me as a parent. If you are reading this review past the 2024 school year, you might just want to do your due diligence on checking who the teacher is running the classes and be sure there are early education certificates held by those individuals. Make sure you meet the current parent board before signing up and sending your kids here. Ensure you are comfortable with where they see the school going throughout the year as well as their protocol for notifying parents when large decisions are made. Make sure you meet the teacher as well and ask about credentials! Previous Review from 2/29/2020: This has been the 1st year for us at APCP and it has far surpassed our expectations as a pre-school. My husband and I weren't sure what to expect with a Co-Op. How can a revolving door of parents "run" a school with consistency and clear organization? The answer is VERY WELL! We have been continuously surprised at how informed we stay and how involved we are allowed to be. This school is very professionally run and the new teacher (Miss Allison) is such a sweet and caring person. Kids can have good and bad days and I've seen her manage the room with incredible success and patience. And we love that you can be involved by having your time in the room as a working parent.

She has developed…read moretremendously as this is her 1st preschool after daycare and 1 year of break at home due to pandemic, we would be thankful to Ms. Smita and Ms. Waafa for showing her and other children all love and the care they needed. All the staffs are so loving and caring special mention to Ms. Smita,Ms. Waafa,Ms.Aari,Ms.Thomas, Ms.Nancy,Ms.Chris,Ms.Reni,Ms. Allyson. We had to relocate to sandiego 2 days ago but my kid keeps saying about her classroom friends and teachers 24×7 and says wants to go back to MCA after she comes from school she would enact and play her classroom scenarios with her soft toys as her friends, herself and me as Ms.Smita and Ms.Waafa. She loves her classmates and Ms.Smita and Ms.Waafa as they do so. Even I am so addicted to talk and play with my kid about her classroom. The best thing happened in her life is being a MCA student, I wish I had known about this place earlier and enrolled her from toddler program itself as they're in practice for more than 15yrs. We had to relocate otherwise she would be still going to Ms.Smita's classroom at MCA. My kid loves the place and the gift letters given to her from her friends and school. Ms.Smita has so much positivity and ever smiling face which influences the kids that even I take her as an example on this is how I need to be with my kid. Their education methodology is the best around Detroit as my kid was attending couple of daycares around until she was 3, I can compare her learning and behavioral development after going to MCA. Most importantly teaching is based on montessori methodology through activities taught to kids with love and care. She's eating even rice by herself now thanks to Ms. Smita,Ms. Waafa and Ms. Nancy. Thanks to Ms. Aari for teaching spanish and engaging the kids with the exercise song and dance moves. My kid perfectly teaches us that since beginning. She recently started full-time just for 3 weeks before our move and enjoyed time with Ms. Chris arts and crafts classes. Overall MCA is the best thing happened to my kid and us in Detroit and Ms.Smita's classroom is the only thing we miss now. Lots of love to you MCA, Ms. Smita,Ms. Waafa and all the classroom friends(its a big list to write their names) from Sahana, I am hopeful that she will always remember all of you as this is her 1st school experience. Thanks to Ms. Thomas and MCA office for giving Sahana an opportunity(enrollment) to be a MCA student.

I don't think teachers like you exist. Thankyou for everything you have done for my kid. My little girl is going there for the last one year and apart from getting an education she is being groomed. She is confident and has learned social skills from Ms Rani, her mentor who she loves as much as she loves her family. I hope my daughter learns what is humility from Mrs Atman. Mrs Atman runs this school with kindness and firmness that makes you proud to be associated with Brown Academy. Never an unkind word always so polite and humble that she wins you over. Mrs Atman you have created a little heaven for the kids. I am a father and super snobbish about my kid. I want the best for my kid and Brown Academy provides that on a daily basis. God bless you all. May the kindness with which you treat my kid come before yours. May this enterprise grow and may more people realize what a treasure Ms Rani is for all of us.

Even enrolled her in some places which claim to teach by play etc. I am not one who wants a child to read college books by age 5 but I expect a bit of learning from the school when I am paying a good amount of money. It was my lucky day when I found out about Brown Academy. My daughter was about to turn 4 then and only knew her ABCs and rhymes because of my constant pushing. As soon as she started coming here she fell in love with the concept of writing, reading and comprehending things that I remember I did in middle school. Ms Atman the owner is the most amazing woman I have across. She has put her heart and soul into this school and it shows the moment you enroll your child here. You will be beaming with pride in no time at the pace your child learns here. The teachers are brilliant, sweet and so loving. My child has learnt leaps and bounds here and I only wish I had known about this place sooner. The teacher handling the 4 years olds, Ms Rani, is the reason that my child wants to not go to any other school and just keep coming back every day. She is an absolute gem of a woman and the best teacher I have ever come across. It takes a big heart to teach little minds and she has the biggest heart I know. Such a gentle, loving, sweet woman! I have moved from Farmington hills but I Drive my daughter very happily for a 35 minute one way trip so she can come to her favorite place till she graduates into Kindergarten. I cannot praise this Montessori enough. It is the best thing you can do for your child. A good foundation leads to a strong pillar. Brown Academy Montessori is the strongest foundation you can provide your child. This is from a woman who has been to all Montessori and preschools in the town, because let's admit it we want the best for our child. Thank you Brown Academy, Ms Atman, Ms Rani and the whole team for all your efforts, love and kindness. You all will always be the shining stars in our hearts.

They have amazing lesson plans that keep the children engaged so they do not even know they are learning. The best part is that I get to experience the classroom twice a month or more if I want. I love going into the classroom and watching my little guy have his "lightbulb" moments. My eight year old also went through the program and exceptionally prepared for Kindergarten, both socially and academically. I would recommend this school also because it brings together all of the Moms. I have made some of my best friends through the preschool and have kept them since my older son was in school. It is an excellent place for parents new to the community or new Mom's who feel isolated to find other Mom's in their same situation. We all have come together to make CCP the best it can be. I'm so sad this is my last year. Wish we could stay longer.

My son was involved in the biting issues and came home with deep bites on his back and scratches on his face as other kids stole his binky and bit him afterwards. I have pictures. AFter he was bitten multiplie times, he did bite a kid to protect his cereal. It was explained to me by his pediatrician my son bit from learning by the other kids who were biting him. He said that is an issue with staffing not engaging the kids and helping the toddlers to distract from what ever is causing frustration. After the state came in to investigate the high number of bites in a set time, I chose to stay. When the state called me at the beginning of the investigation, I did ask if we could not do the investigation and the investigator said bites are a health issue and have to conduct an investigation. Here is the report. It really bothers me that I stood up for the facility and asked stop the investigation and the owners still did what they did lately and honestly it hurts. The investigator made her own decisions based on how Wee Excel handled everything. I am not accountable for how their staff handles situations or are trained. http://www.dleg.state.mi.us/brs_cdc/dt_lfl.asp?CDC_LIC_NBR=DC500291179 My child is child A and it involves kids up to Child G. Just copy and paste the link and the report is at the bottom. I did recommend them after the bite incident to people looking for a daycare and after they kicked my son out, at the end of August, simply for disliking me and continue to lie and say ill things. I posted a review on google to let others know they will kick your son out for non professional reasons. You will find on the internet my good reviews from when we first joined. Now after seeing how they handle things, all I can say is be careful. They lie to make their selves look good and do not practice integrity. After the owner lied on forum and continues to, and removes my posts, I have to say I do not recommend them. I am very hurt by their chosen actions and wish they were the professional people I thought they were before they kicked us out and are not able to keep their personal likes out of their business.
