Dr Tan is a plastic surgeon who claims to be a specialist in lipedema. He is not! Do not go here…read morefor any lipedema removal! He is not a specialist at all. He should not even be recommended. For someone who is supposed to be a lipedema specialist for lipedema removal he is not too bright. I have lipedema and I was referred to him by my doctor who works at the same Hospital. This so-called specialist actually had the audacity to tell me he disagrees with my diagnosis and I do not have lipedema. He said my lipedema has resolved itself by my weight loss. I'm just going to call it as I see it and say this guy is a moron. Lipedema is a chronic disease, there is no cure. By him telling me that it has resolved itself just shows that he is not any kind of specialist in this field and he should not be touching anyone who has lipedema. When I tried to reason with him on why I believe he's wrong he just shrugged his shoulders like let's agree to disagree. He then commented that he can give me information for the resident clinic for plastic surgery which would be the students doing plastic surgery/skin removal on me. If UofC employs YOU, I wouldn't want a student there working on me AND I would pay out of my pocket for it to be a guinea pig for students to practice on? I don't think so. He knows absolutely nothing about my insurance policy but the first thing he told me was my insurance will not cover skin removal. So just trying to make money for the hospital and pushing me off to someone else. He insisted that I don't have lipedema but I only need skin removal because of the weight that I lost. I do need skin removal but I do have lipedema. He never touched my skin to feel the nodules. He just kept repeating himself that I do not have lipedema. I then asked him so I should have come to you when I was fat and then you would have removed my lipedema? And he said no, I would have told you to lose weight. So this guy doesn't remove lipedema from anyone who's overweight but once you lose weight he'll tell you you no longer have lipedema so he doesn't have to do liposuction to remove lipedema but rather he'll try to refer you to the resident Clinic for skin removal. There's something not right with this situation. Now keep in mind, his own colleague was the one who diagnosed me with lipedema and he said he disagrees with the diagnosis and I don't have lipedema. I have gone to Shirley Ryan Ability Lab where I was given a non-official diagnosis by my MLD therapist and received my compression socks. That's what led me to get an official diagnosis at University of Chicago until this idiot decides he's going to disagree with the diagnosis. I did find another surgeon to go to who did tell me I do have lipedema and he took the time to actually touch my legs and felt the nodules. I have lipedema in my legs, arms, abdomen and butt. Now I can move guard with surgery at another hospital. Maybe Dr Tan should have taken the time to listen to me and examine me rather than blow me off and try to send me for skin removal. Even after skin removal, I'm still going to have lipedema and that's still going to have to be removed with liposuction so no amount of skin removal is going to resolve that issue. So if anyone from University of Chicago reads this you might want to reevaluate that Dr. Tan is not a lipedema specialist and should not be performing lipedema liposuction removal if he doesn't know what lipedema is in a patient! And it's a really unprofessional of a doctor in your hospital to tell a patient that he disagrees with another doctors diagnosis. Because I know my doctor at UofC is right and I do have lipedema and Dr Tan is wrong. He's an idiot! And I hope someone sues your hospital when he screws someone's lymphatic system up because he doesn't know what he's doing when it comes the lipedema because he doesn't know what lipedema is!

If I had to pick between being a crack whore and a student at this place, selling myself for crack…read morewould be a much better venture. As a student at this hell-hole, I not only found out why this school gets bad reviews from former students and graduates, but realized how poor of an education I received. The good reviews here are paid people hired by the campus to give it good ratings and paint a rosy picture of what a mess this school is. Just to be concise here are the main reasons: 1. All the homeworks and study guides given do not help with the tests or exams given. 2. The teachers are so disorganized and when we point out why we don't do well at their exams we are blamed for not studying and working hard enough. 3. The main coordinators of the Med Surg and pharmacology classes are in such good standings with the Dean, that any flaws (major ones like a majority of their students not passing the NCLEX) are brushed aside. They will never face any consequences for they are infallible to the Dean. 4. The graduates of this school have very poor success rate in passing the NCLEX exams (look up Illinois license for nurses accreditation) 5. Not a lot of learning happens in this school because we are given very little time to between the lectures given and the periods of time the exams are given to us. 6. Our grades and our exams suspiciously change either for the worse or for the better. And when we inquire why this is so, we are not given any answers. 7. They don't give us back our tests so we don't know why we did so poorly or so well on the exams. They don't give it back mainly because the teachers are so lazy to make a new exam so that it would not be copied by a former student and be used for the next class. 8. They take pleasure in seeing us fail because they make more money if we take a class twice rather than taking it once. 9. Very low NCLEX passing scores. 10. On probation from the Illinois Accreditation for the 5th year as I write this. Why is this scam of a place still around. I would assume that before they lose their accreditation they will just change their name to "Creek Point Uni" "Go Smoke Some Crack and Go Here Uni". And these are the reasons why I would sell myself for crack than go to this scam of an institution.

Resurrection University offers many degrees in the healthcare industry. After attending…read moreorientation, I can appreciate the way the university staff works with the students. They want to be successful. There is lots of staff members that can help you out from professors to peers. During orientation, they do explain what courses will be taken, materials needed, what to expect, and who to see if you have issues. The school has a simulation lab that really impressed me. It was very open, clean, and lots of equipment for hands on skills. There is a cafeteria downstairs, library, and a 24 hour student lounge. This program does provide night and weekend courses which not many universities do. There is a 24 hour security and they will offer to walk to your car in the evening if it seems sketchy. There is free parking for students. Wink wink. Overall, I really enjoy the friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic staff. I hope that this stays consistent throughout the program.
