I remember thinking I was so smart being in honors history. Honors language arts. Algebra 1. Spanish 1. Ooooh I'm sooooo smart. Also, I never understood why kids who sucked up to their teachers here at Monte Vista were called "Smacks." I still don't get it. Oh, and PE. PE was the shit. We played cool things like team handball... and a foot-based volleyball game like sepak takraw... and paddle tennis. We also did a schoolwide cookbook, which was supposed to be a math project because it involved calculating the macronutrients and calorie values per serving, but I feel like no one really did the math except for me... Oh, and we did a music revue of America. Going west. In a covered wagon. Me and Mamie O'Rourke. Fifty nifty United States. Got to got to get us some elbow room. Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home. And don't get me started on Renaissance trips to Magic Mountain. We destroyed that place. We're the reason I hate Magic Mountain now.
