There are not sufficient words to describe how wonderful Saint Anne's house is. We opted to spend our wedding anniversary with them, and I'm afraid no other lodging will ever compare. I am writing this on my phone because I am so excited to share with the world this wonderful place. Let's start with the location. peacefully located outside of Nottingham but not so far away as to make it difficult to get there, the village and St. Anne's grounds are something out of a fairy tale. Meticulously and skillfully kept, the garden is a peaceful and beautiful place almost not of this world. The home is lovely, with all of the amenities one could hope for and then some. My favorite place in the house is probably the snug, where we got to sit and sip drinks in front of a real fire on very comfy furnishings. My dear husband even fell asleep on accident there. Our room was Hollyhock, an incredibly spacious and well appointed space with a lovely view of the church across the way. We even got to hear the bells one morning (dont worry they wont wake you, they were rung in the late morning). However, the best part of Saint Anne's is Janeen, Chris, and Hamish the Westie dog. This little dream of a family went above and beyond to make our trip memorable and comfortable. Easy to say the succeeded. I don't have the words to express how grateful we are for them driving us around and providing the largest breakfast I've ever seen in my life and a delicious candle light dinner for our anniversary, in addition to giving us advice on how best to spend our time (their suggestions were just right for our interests). They are lovely folk to get to know and we are privileged to have been able to spend what now feels like a woefully insufficient amount of time with them. Not to mention their accommodation pricing is a bargain! So, in summation, bring lots of time to spend, an extra stomach to fit all the food, and your best doggie pets with you and come stay at St. Anne's. you won't regret it at all. My only regret was only getting two nights there. read more
