When I was looking for daycares I toured a few before deciding on Brownstone. What I like about…read moreBrownstone is the vibe of it - I think it has a familiar, familial vibe to it. It's not stuffy. Some of the other daycares I toured had a real 'factory' vibe to them that seemed cold and like some sort of weird production line where the kids went through the same station rotation every day. Brownstone has the structure that kids need, but also allows for flexibility. While there's a lot of the typical turnover you see in all daycares, there doesn't seem to be a lot of turnover with the lead teachers, who are the ones you want to be consistent. One of the best things about Brownstone is that they allow part-time care for infants and toddlers, which is REALLY hard to find, and are reasonably priced. They are currently a 3 star SUTQ rated facility, which is a good rating. If you can get over some of the superficial things that need fixing up (which kids don't give a hoot about) you won't be disappointed in the quality of care. *Not receiving any freebies for this recommendation. Just want to get the word out that this is a good value daycare in the area.

Please don't ever make the mistake of sending your child to the school. I had my daughter there for…read moreabout 2 months last year. The reason why this review is so late is because of how traumatizing this entire ordeal was for me. First and foremost before I get into anything. I want to let you guys know that Brownstone Day School broke their contract. I explicitly stated that my daughter was not to appear on their social media. And I have screenshots of her on their Facebook page. One of the major reasons why I do not allow my daughter on social media is because we have a restraining order against somebody who has made threats against me and my daughter. Finding these photos was a devastating blow making me realize that Brownstone day school did not care about my daughter's safety or security when I explicitly made sure I did not sign the media contract and I let them know that she was to not appear in any form on media. My daughter who was a preemie and has asthma attended this school from August to I believe November of 2022. My daughter who I've worked very hard to keep healthy started out going to the school while in the average percentile for a 2-year-old. While attending this school she dropped all the way down to the 16th percentile for weight. My husband and I noticed she was acting lethargic and was extremely hungry whenever we would pick her up. I brought up my concerns to the staff. Letting them know that there was recently a child who was found locked away in a closet in another daycare who wasn't being fed. I let them know my concerns and that I was concerned about my daughter not eating enough. 4 days later my daughter was dismissed. The official reason which I had to learn from odjfs was that I made a staffer feel uncomfortable when I asked her exactly how much my daughter was eating. The reason why this whole ordeal blew up was because whenever I would pick her up they gave me my daughter's Daily Report which said she was eating full servings of all of her food and drinking full servings of all of her milk. My husband and I found the suspicious because my daughter does not drink milk. We asked the staffers how they were getting her to drink milk and they would just shrug and say that she drank it when the other kids drink it. My daughter refuses to drink milk in any form in any way. This led me being a little bit suspicious about the paperwork they were sending home with her I began to believe that they were lying about her intake of food. I would have had no issue with them just being honest and telling me that she wasn't eating her food but the fact of it is my daughter dropped to the 16th percentile. Her first check up after not going to that school she sprang back to the 87th percentile. If you would like to see my documents about this and trust me I have all my documents including including a document from my daughter's pediatrician saying that child welfare needs to be contacted because of how much weight my daughter dropped while attending this daycare. After being dismissed I asked Brownstone Day School to have my daughter's medical equipment ready for pickup by a family member. When this family member went none of her items were ready. They have stolen a book from me and also some of my daughters in medical equipment. This equipment is a couple hundred dollars put together. I am disgusted that they would not return these items to me and I have found out that allegedly they have refused to return medical equipment to families who have left Brownstone in the past. After being dismissed I did reach out to a couple other families who left reviews. Needless to say I am disgusted with the treatment of the children and the families that attended brownstone. I am disgusted that allegedly other families have been tricked out of hundreds of dollars by Tesla teaching them to sign in wrong. Tesla also did this to me where she taught me how sign in but on the wrong ipad. And then try to charge me hundreds of dollars for not signing in correctly. Allegedly they have also dismissed other children whose family members have brought concerns up about physical abuse that has happened to them. I am not going to be telling other people's stories only my own story. Which includes Brownstone Day School posting my daughter to social media without my consent, Brownstone Day School filling out possible fake sheets about what my daughter was eating causing her to drop a significant amount of weight, Brownstone Day School dismissing me after I questioned them about what my daughter was eating, and Brownstone Day School not returning some of my daughter's Medical equipment, absolutely disgusting do not send your children to this place

Hey CYO fans just wanted to get some opinions regarding an unpleasant phone call that I just had…read morewith St Bridget of Kildare CYO Athletics athletic director Jonathan Boncela. Background My step sons were suspended from their current CYO Cross Country season for our failure to work the volleyball fundraiser tournament. This left them in tears tonight as they were made aware that not only would they not be able to run the last two races of the season but also that they wouldn't be able to run with the team at practice tonight to East Coast Custard. The Call When I was made aware of this I found it completely unacceptable and made a call to Jon to discuss. I agreed that he was well within his rights to uphold their policy but I wanted to discuss options that wouldn't include punishing the kids. I suggested that he allow them to finish the season with the understanding that they would not be eligible to register for Winter sports. I also suggested that he set the expectations that if someone worked the basketball tournament that they would be eligible to register for Spring sports. Jon disagreed with my suggestions saying the only way they could continue with cross country is if someone worked the volleyball tournament. So you're thinking..... Why didn't you or mom work the tournament? Good question. Short answer is that they treated my wife very poorly earlier this year when she tried to help one of their coaches with a volleyball practice so that wasn't on the table. Not to mention that we didn't know this was an issue until there were a very limited number of time slots available to help. Why didn't Dad do it? I can't speak to this. It could be very much justified. I don't know. My Opinion I believe that every adult has choices in these situations. I believe that someone in charge of a parish CYO program should look for alternatives to punishing the kids. I laid out what I thought was a very fair alternative which allowed Jon to uphold the rules while not punishing my step sons and he chose the hard line alternative. I think this was very wrong but I am very interested in your thoughts.
