It appears this place is due for a fresh review, because this is a great self service car wash place! It's not yet updated here on Yelp, but the hours are from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm and the place is called "Squeak's Car Wash." I came in the morning and it felt safe, located near downtown El Segundo. Being able to use credit card for the wash is a huge plus. Make sure to read the instructions because there's a way to stop the charging if you finish early by pressing the button down for two seconds. I ended up spending only $8 for my wash and the machine told me so in the end. I was very impressed with the amount of soap and clear coat wax that came out of the spray. They are generous with the products here, which is why I will probably keep coming back here to give my car a wash. Also, if you don't know yet, make sure you use the spot free rinse in the end. I always do this with other self service car washes and I can drive off without drying my car and I won't get water spots. I experimented not doing it once to see if there was a difference, and my car ended up with nasty water spots. The vacuum cleaners are unfortunately not able to be used with a credit card so make sure to have cash on hand. There's an exchange machine to get the dollar coins required for the vacuum cleaners. This man acts completely unprofessional around african americans. I was with my black friend who is literally a professional financial analyst. The owner guy or whatever sees my friend washing the car while I am sitting inside. The guy starts screaming, shouting, and starts yelling at him to leave for no reason. I get out of the car and he then sees me, and a smile comes to his face. He acts like nothing is wrong and he is totally embarrassed. I would not have believed it if I was not there to see it with my own eyes that a well put together black man cannot use a damn self serve car wash in LA in this day and age. I washed my car, and went to dry when the vacuum machine kept taking my money after I would out in the quarters. All of a sudden a voice extremely rudely says I have to leave. He said they're closed and I can't be there. He then proceeds to increase his tone and yell at me to leave and stated you have 7 minutes before the police come. I had a verbal altercation with the voice saying in multiple locations it states they are 24/7. I stayed an extra 10-15 min to see if he was bluffing and he was. He proceeded to yell rudely and play an automated message for me to leave as I packed up my stuff after I had washed my car. This was all before 11pm mind you when he stated "we're closed" if your there before 11 you shouldn't be kicking paying customers out. Additionally I had spent money at this location not to mention the machines took my money. I asked the voice to a refund and he said too bad and continued to be rude and unruly. Honestly, I've been coming here since 2012 and lived one street over. I work for a company at the airport and we frequently wash our fleet vehicles here as well due to the location. Today, this fine specimen decided to pick me out of everyone else washing their cars for reasons I believe of Tesla derangement syndrome. This comes with a territory of owning a Cybertruck if that paints a picture. I merely turned the machine on after I deposited $12 to self wash my car. I forgot to select car wash mode on my vehicles touchscreen (essential to not damage electronics from water ingress) so I briefly went back inside my vehicle to turn it on and this gentleman comes up to me asking if I'm done. He proceeds to shut the machine off. I wasn't sure if he worked there or not at first. I got out washed my truck and then moved up to the vacuums where he approached me a second time. This time in a condescending attitude, he was mocking me for having my vehicle 1-2 feet past a yellow line. I did this so I can open the rear doors and vacuum. He said that I wouldn't park an aircraft past the yellow line. Why would I park my vehicle like that? (Addressing me in my work attire) Remind you there was another 6 feet from my front bumper to the wall so I was not obstructing a pathway or anything. Due to the nature of the design on how the rear doors articulate on this truck I needed the space to move up just enough so I don't damage the doors. He proceeded to tell me that I threw the foam brush on the ground and was walking around like I own the place. And those brushes cost $500. He wasn't even in the vicinity when I set the brush on the ground. This is a procedure that I always do when I wash my car when using the foam brush. I place it on the ground and rinse the bristles so I don't etch dirt from other vehicles into the surface of my own. The brush also produces an incredible amount of foam as soon as it is selected. So with experience, I set it down, then turn it on, so I don't get soaked in foam. I'm not the only one that does this. He went off beating me for nothing in front of other customers. I did get irate and had a few choice words. But before that exchange, he was already on the phone with Police trying to have me arrested for trespassing. I promptly told him that I am leaving his property and you would have to give me a warning first of trespassing to give me an opportunity to leave. I went directly to the El Segundo Police Department and asked for a FOIA release of his phone call for miss use of an emergency service. I told the officer that if he did call, I would like to press charges against him. I currently have a case number with the El Segundo PD. This individual is a poor representation of his business and El Segundo. This individual was so triggered by my vehicle or my veterans license plate or for whatever reason he had politically that he went out of his way to publicly humiliate me in front of other individuals while I'm still in my work uniform. I'm not sure what happened in his life or why he's so grumpy but I'm not gonna allow that to jeopardize my career by falsifying to the police about our altercation. If you are a Tesla owner, I strongly advise go find somewhere else to wash your car. This review is mainly for men's mental health awareness. Please seek help instead of unloading on a stranger. I was just here at around 1:40 ish am and on Apple Maps it said that the car wash was open so I didn't think much about it and started washing my car. I finished washing my car and started drying it off when I hear the camera start setting off an alarm, I was confused because I didn't know why it went off. I heard a voice from the camera say "you have three minutes to leave before the cops arrive" I was really confused because I was just drying my car off and not doing anything out of the ordinary, I spent my money here to get a car wash and I wasn't even allowed to dry my car off?? I understand the cost of everything is going up, I do. And if you add new equipment, yes you're going to need to raise the prices a bit. But if you raise your prices, that doesn't mean you should lessen your services. The prices to wash your vehicle use to be $5.00 for 15 minutes. Now with the new equipment and I assume cost of cleaners it's $6.00 for 12 minutes. It might not seem like much, but it's a bit of a slap in the face. I mean the cost of gas goes up and you don't get less fuel. The cost of bread goes up and you don't get less per loaf. So on and so on. Being a business owner I understand the rising cost in the environment. I also understand providing a quality product or service shouldn't diminish. It's only a dollar more and 3 minutes less. The water pressure was amazing and it was able to get the poop off my hood. Also used the soaping brush, but I power washed the head before hand. That worked like wonders as well. Between express car wash (drive-thru) and self car wash (which is what Auto Spa is), I would choose self car wash every time because you get to clean your car to your standard (express car wash doesn't give the best results). Anyhow, I have been coming here to wash my cars for 6 years and would continue to come here. The place is well maintained and spacious. A lot of self car wash places put very little soap, but not here. The wheel soap is also great. Pricing is also very reasonable. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough and I think you would appreciate this place too! TIP: I don't recommend using the brush as it may scratch your car. I'm someone who haaates washing my car but this spot makes it so easy and quick. For $6 you get 12 mins which is enough time to get your car sparkly clean. The hose is super strong and there's a lot of options (foam brushing, soap hose etc) and you can clean your car as your like. I won't ever go to a drive thru car wash after finding this place. I went today to wash my car and when i got there, there was an employee who was picking up trash. I took my car because it was dirty and it had lots of tree trash. Now i was washing it and i sprayed it down with water to rinse it before i used the foam brush and when i did the leaves fell off, after that the employee said man fuck you fuck the leaves and fuck the customers, this seemed extremely rude to me because thats the reason i took my car to the car wash . I discovered this self service car wash a few years ago and have been washing my previous and current cars here ever since! This is a no frills place, and this one helped me learn how to wash my car efficiently in 15 minutes for only $5! Sure, their soft scrubbing brushes and spray wax aren't exactly what I'd consider as high quality, but they do a good job for the price, obviously with some of your own elbow grease added! By design, it's difficult to give this place 5 stars because you're essentially only paying for the water usage. You have to bring your own towel to dry your car, and you have the option to pay $1 for brief usage of a vacuum. The vacuum is timed, but no display lets you know how much time you have left. I don't have a hose at my apartment, so this works out well for me. If given the option in other areas of town, there's definitely some good automated car washes for a similar price that includes a dryer and towel drying, with a free vacuum use. I've been searching for a coin-operated self car wash on the West side and I think I've finally found THE best spot. Location is in El Segundo right next to the airport in a decent neighborhood. I've never seen any "hookers" or homeless people loitering. It's easily accessible and there always seems to be open bays, which is a huge plus because anywhere else I've gone, I've had to wait, and have been rushed by people waiting behind me. I get to take my time here - because cleaning your car isn't an in-and-out thing. By the photographs, it doesn't look luxurious but it's a CAR WASH and has everything you need. Prices as of November 2016: $3 - 6 minutes $4 - 8 minutes $5 - 15 minutes $1 - 2 minutes (?) vacuum (no timer) $5 for 15 is an incredible deal. There are several wash options and the soap, wax, and water pressure were all great. Tip: They have a coin machine breaks down bills into $1 coins. I don't believe you can use credit/debit so be sure to bring cash. Decent place to quickly wash you car and go on with your day. No special amenities, not the cleanest place at all, but it gets the job done

This place is great! So glad I found this. I bought a new car last month with a little more luxury than my previous one (a 1999 Toyota 4Runner). This new car - a little luxury, a little sporty. Needless to say, this new car will not be joining me on ANY rugged adventures; if it's not going with me on the beaten path, it sure as heck isn't going through an automatic car wash. Those high pressure jets, abusive "cloth" pillars, and jet-turbine air dryers will do some serious damage to a car. Plus, who doesn't enjoy the feeling of completing a quality job on their own? Like everybody says, the $5 for 15 minute wash, wax, and rinse is all you need. You will definitely need all 15 minutes to go through all the cycles and maybe even a little more depending on the size of your car. Be forewarned though, this isn't a quick job. You'll end up spending about 30 mins or more washing and drying your car. You pull up into your own individual wash bay (and mind you, this place is rarely crowded, maybe because it's such a hidden gem) and you're equipped with a water hose and a soap brush. THIS IS A COIN OPERATED FACILITY. Thankfully, they do have cash-to-coin converters in the back by the vacuums. Anyways, put in your $5 in dollar coins, and go through the cycles. The high pressure water jet loosens up all the dirt, the soap brush helps scrub off the grime even more, then the pressure wash rinse helps bring the shine to your car. THINGS YOU'LL NEED: -DOLLAR BILLS -DRYING TOWELS -ANY CAR CARE PRODUCTS TO ACCENTUATE THE DETAIL OF YOUR CAR -TIME It really is worth the $5 and the 30 minutes of your time. This is my favorite place to get my car washed. Each time I go, there is usually little to no wait at all, and there are around 6 stalls total. The best deal is paying $5 for the maximum of 15 minutes to use all the washing features, which include high-pressure soap, tire and wheel foam cleaner, foam floor mat cleaner, the foam brush, high-pressure rinse, wax spray, and spot-free rinse. There is also a lot of open space for you to park and hand dry your car, and there are even several vacuum stations to use at the cost of $1. During the last time I went, one of the staff who was sweeping the parking area was nice enough to restart my vacuum for free since I didn't get to finish vacuuming my floor carpets in one turn. The only downside of this place is that the wash and vacuum stations only accept $1 coins, but the back of the car wash has a couple coin dispensers that allow you to exchange bills for dollar coins. I was looking for an alternative to the automatic car wash locations. The 5 minute car wash down the street scratched up my aftermarket wheels pretty bad, so I decided to stop going there. The car wash also didnt clean my car very well for $10. I found the El Segundo Coin-Op Car Wash on Yelp. I have tried self service car washes in the past with so so results. El Segundo Co-Op Car Wash was very easy! Its a very clean and well maintained facility. For $5 you get 15 minutes to wash, wax and rinse your car. If you don't have change, the facility has a change machine. If you need towels, window cleaner, etc the Car Wash has coin operated dispensers. The vacuums are very efficient, I believe it was $1 for 5 minutes. If you are very particular on how your car is cleaned, bring your own towel/chamois, wheel cleaner and what ever you use to clean your car. I went on a Sunday afternoon and was in and out within 30 minutes. The facility is not busy. read more

If when you were driving to the Beach you stopped by 7/11 to grab a quick drink, you were only a stones throw away from this car wash. If you ever went to the El Segundo Dog Park you and this car wash was a snake it would have bitten you. This Car Wash has private bays, vacuums, places to clean your engine if you are getting ready to sell it and want to sucker the new buyer into thinking you took care of your car this is your spot. They now offer 5 minutes for $2.50 which is quite a deal. You can scrub those bird poo stains off of your car that a normal automatic car wash only fades. This place is never busy. read more

Thought I'd come and check this place out for my own due to the yelp reviews; I'm surprised there's only two for this place and thought I'd give them a plug. The place is a facility in great condition and all the equipment looks well maintained and in very good working order. I previously went to another self service closer to home and their timer system was horrible accompanied by the hose taking ages to switch to your desired setting. You spent most of your allocated time waiting for the bloody thing to swap over and ended up spending way more than necessary. I had no issues whatsoever with the equipment here and best of all, the machine managed to swap them efficiently and the detergents poured out generously. The hose was full of power and the allocated brush was soft but I only ever use the brush for my wheels. They have change machines and some assorted accessories available also for your convenience. The best thing about this place is the cost. $5 for 15 minutes is unbeatable and I could leisurely go about cleaning the car properly. I believe they also have other increments of $4 for 8 minutes and $3 for 6 minutes. To top it off, while drying my car at their vacuum bays, an employee came around giving us all complimentary dry towels. Good stuff! Highly recommend. read more

Best coin-op car wash on the westside. The prices are very reasonable and there are always open bays to wash your car. For $5, you can use all of the settings and wash your car for 15 minutes. If you feel like you don't need 15 minutes, $4 will get you 8 minute and $3 will get you 4 minutes. There is a change machine in the back and it will dispense $1 coins. This is nice because you won't be sitting in the stall putting in 20 quarters for your 15 minute car wash. This was my first time washing my truck at a coin car wash. Everything was pretty decent. There was a machine to get quarters. There was a dial in the stall for different washing operations. I've read online that using the brush is a bad idea because it scratches paint. $2.50 gets you 4 minutes of washing. I went through $10 to cover everything. I was scared for years about washing my own car for fear of dulling the paint, causing swirls, or similar problems. Though, it was a lot of fun to play with water. Actually, I had to really hold onto for the high water pressure modes, yee-ha! On a Saturday, the place never got occupied more than 50% which is good for the customer, maybe not so much the business. About every 15 minutes, a homeless person will wonder through asking everyone for money. It's mostly the type of homeless people who are styled like in the movie Mad Max. read more

My reason for washing my truck here was the fact that my truck is lifted and am able to use the bay that has the stairs for high trucks like mine. It's like any other DIY car wash. You insert your money into the machines and add time for your wash. My only gripe was sometimes the vacuums would not function and most of the time there's never an attendant onsite. I've been going there, on and off for about 2 years. I like having control of how my car is washed, for a number of reasons. I haven't had any issues, until this morning, 7/5/19. I put the correct number of quarters in the slot. The electronic sign counts down. This particular bay, the second from the right, looking from Imperial, the sign kept reading "2 more coins." So I kept adding until I inserted $6. Nothing happened. I pulled over to the next bay (#1 from the right, etc.). I inserted the correct number of coins, and it worked. The signage is old and not maintained. The "bad" bay had no indication of how to get a refund for lost money. The working bay I used, had a sticker near the coin slot that said to write your personal info down, how much you lost and slip it under the door of the equipment room. I did that. I'll wait and see if they have any integrity. As to signage, there is a worn out sign with a phone number on it. That's my next option. Stay tuned. This was my first self-service car wash experience and it's a great value at $5 for a wash complete with soap and spray wax. Is $5 self-service greater than $10 full service? Mmm... possibly only when I'm not feeling lazy. But at least I can control how long I'm there, who has access to my car, and I don't have to tip myself. And as one reviewer mentioned, it's fun! I liked that the washing and drying stations have little, barely noticeable divets so you can reach the top of your car. TIPS: * Coin machine is located behind drying/vacuuming station on the far right. It only dispenses coin dollars (or whatever the correct term is). * Get the 15-minute wash for $5. It's a great value and you really need that much time to get through all the cycles. I thought it would change automatically so I spent about 4 minutes on the initial rinse but you actually have to manually change the dial. * Bottom line for the above tip: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST! They're located near the coin slots at every washing station. * For the best value, bring your own towels and whatever else you need to detail your car. I took off one star because I thought the vacuuming charge was a bit high for the time you get. To do under all 4 floor mats, seats, and the trunk will take 3-4 cycles.
