After showing up to a different course to find out it was closed, I gave Spyglass a call and headed over. We checked in ($12 per person), grabbed our clubs and our ball and headed to hole #1. When we arrived (around 11:00am) there was only one other group on the course, but within 15 minutes there were a few other groups behind us. The holes were easy to moderate and I think it's a fun course for players of all ages, as long as you don't take yourself to seriously. It's meant to be fun after all, not a professional game of golf. I will note there were a decent amount of steps, so if that's some that that if difficult for anyone in your party, this may not be the best place for you. But if you can handle the steps, it's definitely worth the trip, because there are some pretty cool effects and holes. read more

My parents and I played this course on an early Friday morning. We were the only people on the course for about 5 holes and then a couple of groups came to play after us. The weather was nice but it got hotter the longer we played. We hadn't played the course in a couple of years. The course is well maintained. I do want to note that there are a lot of steps. If there is someone in your party who has trouble with steps, especially steep ones, this probably isn't the course for you. The wooden steps are taller than normal, and some of the handrails need tightening because they're loose and shaky. The steps going into the cave were the worst. They are very long, wide, and steep in random places. There are no handrails to hold on to, so you're pretty much grasping at the sides of the cave to steady yourself. Also, it can get very hot and muggy and steamy in the cave, which makes it easy to slip. Once you got inside, there were a plethora of holes and divots in the concrete. You really have to watch your step so you don't twist an ankle. There were several places where heavy duty non-slip mats were put down (especially when you're walking behind the waterfall) which I appreciated. There's a cute little gift shop inside the building where you pay. The woman behind the counter (I assume the owner?) was very polite and cheerful. Coming from one of the absolute worst mini golf players ever, I found this course to be both challenging yet still easy enough to not get overly frustrated. Every hole was intended to be a par 2 however as others have pointed out, they each pose a challenge and aren't just straight shots. While reading other yelper's reviews I was surprised to find out that this place has been open for over 20 years! I couldn't believe it because the course was so well kept that it looked brand new and the special effects were impressive. This place is great for families and non-pro style mini golf players (my BF didn't think it was very challenging). I love mini gulf and this was a fun course. The obstacles were a fun challenge, the grounds were beautiful, clean and well manicured. I've been coming to Spy Glass for over 20 years now - as a kid and now with my kids every time we visit Myrtle Beach. It is always immaculately maintained and great way to spend an afternoon away from the beach. I believe all the holes are par 2, and a mix of traditional golf hazards with pirate themed obsticals. There is some elevation and stairs, but nothing too intense. With the exception of 3 holes that are in a "cave" the course is uncovered and offers little shade so be sure to bring a hat / wear sunscreen if you are visiting on a sunny day. Course fees are $11 for adults and slightly less for kids. Well worth the fee for a very memorable time and one that you will repeat again on future visits to MB. read more

It was very clean and well kept.. there is a part where you go in a little cave which makes it really fun. They do let you know upfront that there are some cannons going off so if that's an issue this may not be for you but I didn't notice it was that loud or startling. Spy Glass is a really great miniature golf course. I have been there many times, most recently earlier this month with my sister and brother-in-law. It is mostly surrounded by water and features a large ship and waterfall. The course is moderately challenging with a few tricky holes. It generally gets very busy after 8pm. Expect to wait awhile especially if they are a lot of larger groups. It is a lot of fun and one of the better courses in Myrtle Beach! Definitely recommend. read more

I never give a mini golf place 5 stars, because all mini golf places are about the same; unless they're just complete shit, then I would rate low. But I was actually impressed with Spy Glass. For being so close to the beach, and being in the center of the tourist area, it was a decent course to play on. It's right on the corner of business 17 and 38th ave. The course was clean, a good amount of the holes were challenging, and not just a straight shot into the holes like most tourist courses. ***!!! One thing to consider, there are a lot of stairs throughout all 18 holes. So keep that in mind if you are in a party where someone has a harder time with stairs. Two of the holes were in the cave, which I thought was dangerous even for us 20 something year olds. It was decently busy, but we didn't feel rushed. There is only one course here. Some courses in myrtle beach have 2 sides to choose from this one doesn't. This wasn't a big deal to us but just wanted to make sure others know. The course is challenging, but not crazy difficult. There's really good affects such as water cannons that go off randomly as you're golfing which make things fun. Hole 18 takes your ball but if you go inside the nice lady will give you any other one to play an additional round. The course is really nice too. The landscaping is beautiful. There are stairs just FYI in case you can't navigate them well. There are 2 holes that are inside this cave & behind the big waterfall. Overall it was very enjoyable! Been coming to Myrtle Beach for years and finally got around to playing Spyglass. I have played just about every course in North Myrtle & Myrtle Beach and this would be one of the better ones I have played at, but lost in the shuffle because of the newer courses. The course is well taken care of and the holes are simple to moderate, but entertaining enough for a child to enjoy. The course carries you through a broken ship and through a cave on the backside on 16 & 17. It's worth a visit and has some great spots for photos if your into doing that. read more

Went here a few years ago. Car was broken into and purse was stolen. Heed the signs about not leaving anything of value in view...I didn't realize purse was not tucked away, so that's on me. Management was not even remotely apologetic or helpful in calling police. My review is based not on the car being broken into, but the response from management. We will not return there. read more
