First, let me say I did not seek the services of Top Hill Landscaping (Jamarcus Wallace). I was minding my business, and he came knocking at my door. After I decided to accept their services (my first mistake), the price changed more than once, and only higher and higher, of course. Initially, the services were being performed well. Things were going as expected even though it was much higher than originally quoted. After some time Jamarcus Wallace came to my door for payment (after asking for more money), I gave him the payment (my second mistake). He and his team continued working for 20-30 minutes, then left without completing the job. My yard and even worse, my neighbor's yard, was left a complete mess. They left an entire tree in my backyard just lying there; the tree they cut up was thrown in the bushes in my backyard. Multiple branches, large and small, were dropped over the fence into my neighbor's yard. I contacted Jamarcus Wallace about the condition of the yards. He stated he would be back the next day, and I believed him (my third mistake). Of course, he did not show up the next day and has not been back since. I tried to contact them for the better part of 3-4 days, but they never responded. Accepting services from Top Hill Landscaping (Jamarcus Wallace) has cost me a great deal of money and caused trouble with my neighbors. Just be aware and do not trust them if you decide to do business with Top Hill Landscaping (Jamarcus Wallace).

There were different issues with the lawn. I received excuses every time. Meanwhile, all of my neighbors down my street whose lawns are NOT treated look better than mine. The final straw was when the tech applied fertilizer which end up burning my lawn with the help of all of the summer heat. I text the technician with an update on my lawn being burned and he proceeded to argue with me several times. I eventually called the home office and talk to the co-owner and FIRED them immediately.

I heard by someone else that he thought maybe the guy putting the fertilizer down was selling what he didn't use on the side. I believe that because he sure didn't use it on my yard. when I called to fire them they said I need to aireate it for a couple more years. no it just needed fertilizer like I had been telling them the past 2 years and weed man after 1 treatment proved that!!! I have before weed man treatment and after but couldn't figure out how to post them. They tell the real story!!

They did not like the quote on 900$ from my irrigation company to come dig and replace the power line and they have yet to come fix it themselves. I reached out on June 2 to let them know and they still haven't been out to fix it. He also argued with me that his guys didn't hit the power line. I know they did. They dug all my yard up to sod. It's been a lot of me trying to chase them down to fix what they broke.Im still waiting today and keep getting "we are too busy"- when you break something you should make it a priority to fix it... so now I'm out 900$ to fix the irrigation power line they hit bc they won't get it handled in a timely manner and I need my irrigation up and running.

FIREWOOD HEADQUARTERS @ Getwell Rd & I240! (Former Buick…read moreDealership ... a long, long time ago!) * This review is only for their firewood * They have pallets of firewood ready to load up on your truck by forklift. Everyone is very friendly. Full Pallet = $100. 1/2 Pallet = $60. This price beats the bundles I've been getting from the grocery stores. I purchased a full pallet (loaded quickly on my truck) & I ended up sharing much of it with friends. The oak wood burned nicely -VERY HOT & LONG! If I were picky, I'd have 2 gripes: * Firewood is ~19" long (My wood burning stove is 18" inside -so I had to cut some or insert diagonally -not ideal). * Their office is open for firewood pickup only M-F until 04:00pm & they tell me that they no longer deliver. But I was able to sneak away from work to pickup & the wood is great! (My friends think so too!)

One quotes was pulling numbers out of his sleeve and not only was not a trained arborist, but also wanted extra $ if I required insurance. Second quote was a professional company that markets either by the Val-park or monthly coupon magazine (can't remember which) and their guy said the tree was just too big and needed to come down. They offered a price for trimming and haul away, but it was $1000 more than woodland. The comparably higher price and convincing story about cutting the tree down caused me to pause and have a follow up call with JD. He was pretty patient walking through his logic which started with, "it's a healthy tree with zero evidence of infestation of rot". He then explained how there was a need for a lot of 'cleaning out' of the canopy where main branches grew secondary limbs that had more growth and then dozens of smaller branches. "Air can't flow through, and that's what we'll do". The quote was well done, they arrived on time when promised, and cleaned up very well.

Excuse after…read moreexcuse of why they couldn't come out had me really upset... so I decided to call another company-- Tech1 Lawncare. I called Tech1 Lawncare on Saturday afternoon (3/6) to get an estimate for my yard. Mr. Taylor was at my house within 3 hours of my phone call. He walked the property, gave me a quote, and said he was available to complete the work Monday or Tuesday. He texted early morning to give me a heads-up that he would be here today (3/8), and gave an estimated time. He and his crew were on time, were wearing masks (properly!!), and were all super nice. They followed my directions for what I wanted, and put bags and fallen limbs on the curb for the city to pick up (Mr. Taylor asked if that was OK during his initial visit-- we have City waste pickup, so curb trash and limbs are fine). I have a third of an acre lot. Front and back yards, leaves mulched (40+ year old oak-- so there were a LOT of leaves), everything edged, and trash picked up-- all in less than 2 hours start to finish. I'm super impressed. I've never had a yard service before, but I will definitely be calling these guys back to my house. Reasonable price (about $100 less than what the other company had quoted me), excellent communication, professional, and respectful of my wishes and my property. I definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a one-time gig or a regular lawn care service.
