If I were going to give a down check, it would be the very pricey restaurant that is on the property. Very good, but very pricey. We usually opt to get a delivered pizza! Mary, the bartender for the managers reception and Damian, treat us very personably almost like family. We don't mind spending a couple extra dollars there due to that. And another thing, they have an automatic toaster at the breakfast area that toasts perfectly the first time and every time! I wish all the Embassy Suites would buy that particular electronic toaster! Keep up the great work!

Upon entering the lobby,…read morewe were impressed with the welcoming staff, cleanliness, and the fun decor features (green wall behind the front desk, water feature, fire place by sitting lounge & outdoor fountain/ fire pit). Throughout the hotel hallways, you'll find many artfully designed pictures of different corvettes, as this location isn't far from the Corvette Museum. Our room was spacious and clean with a view of the outdoor fountain. The room was insulated well enough to not hear our neighbors or people walking down the hall. Happy hour included a choice of beverage as well as different snacks - and if you have a non alcoholic preference (i.e. for kids) during happy hour, there is no charge for those. The pool was a welcome treat after a long, hot Kentucky day, clean and perfect for the entire family, with an outdoor seating area as well. The gym had various machines but we didn't get a chance to use them during our stay. Breakfast is better than your average continental breakfast, with omelets, eggs, pancakes and waffles made to order. Buffet options also available and coffee made with a push of a button. Overall, the experience here was great and I'd happily return here next time I'm in the area.

As usual at Tru properties the free breakfast was fine with multiple choices. The only negative with the stay, which is starting to become too common with Hilton properties, is that the Peloton was having technology issues. This may not seem like a problem to most but for frequent travelers who rely on hotel gyms to stay active, it is. Also the gym had no sanitary wipes to clean equipment.

The app is kind of confusing because it says there's a $50 non refundable deposit and then it says there's also a pet fee on a separate line item below that. But they confirmed it's just $50 total for 1-4 nights and $75 for longer. $15 per night is reserved for incidentals but refundable. The room was actually clean. And you can choose your room in advance on the app because there aren't particular rooms reserved for pets only like some hotels. One towel had some hair on it but it didn't phase us as I know how that can happen. It was a washed towel. Breakfast had pancakes, bacon and cheese omelets in addition to oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, bagels, muffins etc. next day they had sausage and scrambled eggs in lieu of the omelettes and bacon. Gold members get popcorn as the welcome snack. Strong WiFi. Water bottle refill fountain downstairs. Along with a microwave and paper plates. Housekeeping you have to request. I saw them mopping the floor of a room as we passed by so I think they must actually be using the pet fee to do a better job cleaning. Outside I did notice they never emptied the trash by the elevator for several days and it was overflowing. Late checkout for higher tier HH members is 1 pm rather than 12 noon. We extended our reservation by a day and I asked them if I could also get late checkout for the new departure date as well and they said yes. But they forgot to add it to my reservation I guess because we got a call at 12:30 pm telling us checkout was at noon. I actually had confirmed it again the day before we were leaving that we had late checkout so I don't know how it fell through the crack. They were a bit stand offish at first saying I didn't make the request, but ultimately capitulated and gave it to me. We started packing our bags regardless so we could exit asap. What I thought was the best part is that they called back 5 min later and acknowledged the request had been made and they saw the notation and comp'd me $10 for the inconvenience. That was nice of them because I was fuming. Kudos. 3 EV charging stations. The same person owns the Fairfield across the street so you can use their facilities as well we were told by the front desk. Gas at the Fivestar across the street is good price for the area. Usually matches the Kroger price down the street.

I stayed at this hotel for my mom's wedding, and it was honestly one of the worst experiences I've…read moreever had. We drove 8 hours to get there, only to walk into a room in terrible condition. There were ants everywhere, including on the bed, which is completely unacceptable. The door had holes in it and didn't seal properly, so there was constant air coming through, making it nearly impossible to keep the room cool. The fridge didn't work at all, which was a serious issue because I had insulin that needed to stay cold. That alone could have created a dangerous situation. On top of that, the beds were extremely uncomfortable--you could feel the springs through the mattress. To make matters worse, I was charged $170 for one night, even though my room was reserved for two nights, so I assumed that was the total. The next morning, I was called and asked if I was checking out, then told I needed to come pay again. When I went to the front desk and explained not only the confusion with the charges but also how unacceptable the room conditions were, the best they offered was charging me $140 more and claiming they "took off" $65. I ended up almost being late to my own mother's wedding trying to sort this out. I even explained that I would not be staying the second night due to the conditions, but needed the room temporarily for my service dog and cat during the wedding. Despite not staying, they still charged me another $140. We ended up leaving the wedding early and driving the 8 hours back home that night rather than stay in that room again. Between the unsafe room conditions, lack of basic cleanliness, broken amenities, and poor customer service, this experience was beyond frustrating. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

They also only have a restaurant and piano bar on Friday and Saturday despite what the website says. They have a non refundable policy which is very frustrating because it feels like they dropped their end of the deal. Now- why the four stars? The room was lovely! And huge, and super clean! So technically when booking a hotel that's what you need. But it was in no way the experience I was excited about for my trip. We checked out a day earlier. Beautiful building, we wanted to to stay here but the place was fully booked.(next visit this place is where I want to stay) We had a lovely waitress that was just new but very experienced and had a great personality! We both ordered a steak and I exchanged the mashed potatoes for asparagus but received both. Can't get away from carbs in my life! The steak was amazing and melted in my mouth the potatoes were hard to stop eating because they were perfect. Had a salad and tried 2 dressing and the blue cheese had excellent taste. Had a blue Long Island which was on the drink menu as a KY drink. Drink was very good. We were in luck and shortly after we set down the pianist started playing. We talked to one of the owners on the way out and he thanked us for coming! What a great night and lovely experience we had at this establishment! Thanks Kentucky Grand!!
