While we liked the services at spring green lawn care, we never authorized for them to come treat our lawn without our verbal authorization. We were specifically asked if we wanted year-round treatments and said no, clearly. We explained we only wanted treatments with our verbal authorization first. Instead, spring green came and treated our lawn anyways, leaving us a bill for a treatment we never authorized or asked for. We called in about it and all they could say was "well, the treatment was already done". Because their technician did not properly relay information, we have another bill to pay. read more

After moving into a new home, I thought a new yard service would be very useful. The flyer they sent me clearly laid out the price for each of their visits, when the visits would occur, and how Spring Green would include a lawn and landscape evaluation. First, they charged me for the whole year, and I had to call them three different times just to get someone out for the initial visit. Now I haven't seen them for two months. It was a big mistake to pay for their service ahead of time as they are unresponsive and no one is coming to do the work! read more

I signed a contract for 2015 and pre-paid the entire season to save vs monthly payments. At the end of the year my lawn was thicker and greener, but weeds such as "creeping Charlie" were still present in my yard. From what I have read this particular weed is nearly impossible to kill, so it's not totally their fault on that one. Overall I was not satisfied with the results for my lawn and did not renew for the next year. After each application a small sign is left in the lawn. One warning on the sign is not to water the lawn for 24 hours after application. On one ocasional an application was applied before an imminent downpour and one other application during a light sprinkle. Not sure of the implications of this, but seems odd since they tell me not to water for 24 hours following application. Can't they check the weather forecast before applying? In 2016, spring green resumed service even though I never requested it or signed a new contract. I paid late for the first two applications hoping they would get the hint. Then I paid a bill after another application and wrote PLEASE STOP SERVICE on the check. After yet another application following the notice on my check I stopped paying, since I believe I had provided sufficient indication I did not want the service. Now they have turned over the last bill to a collection agency. Ah, they joys of dealing with an incompetent local business. Their service is probably fine if you have an already nice lawn, but it only marginally improved mine. And it seems they don't understand the notion of a contract. read more

Unlike Cristina T, I never did get the chance to be disappointed by this company. I had contacted them for a free estimate and they allegedly did one, leaving their results on my front door. I decided to hire them and called both numbers listed on the estimate but no one answered and no recording came on. I emailed, saying I'd like to hire them and received no response. Not a good way to do business. Since then, I;ve read reviews of SpringGreen on other sites and all echo the complaints of Cristina T. I'm glad SpringGreen ignored me. They apparently saved me money and aggrivation. read more

I have been using Spring-Green for 5 years. My lawn has been green season after season. I NEVER water the lawn believing in nature to supply all the water it takes. Despite not watering, my lawn is (if not the best in the block) better than the majority. I have no weeds and no dandelions. I looked into the prices of Tru-Green and the Weedman and found Spring-Green much less expensive for the same services. For your convenience they continue your service year after year without annoying you to renew each year. You are free to contact them to discontinue. At the end of each year they send you a quote for the next season at discounted rates if you renew and pay in advance. Paying in advance reduces their overhead and they pass the savings on to the customer! read more

I have been very pleased with the service and response time for Spring Green. This was our first year using a lawn service so of course I had a lot of questions. Every time I called I was given a clear explanation with a pleasant, caring attitude. Our lawn was in very bad shape with many weeds and almost completely overtaken with creeping Charlie. They were honest saying it would probably take 2 years to get it under control but from just the spring and summer applications this year it truly is at least 75%better. I am so pleased and I really feel their prices are exceptional for the services they provide. You have to be proactive with a lawn service and do what they recommend( higher cutting length and watering) and it sure pays off!!! read more

I used spring green last year for fertilization and aeration. I am now having a neigbor do it this year so I called and cancelled my "subscription" at the end of last year. (you have to or it will automatically renew) In March of this year, they still came to my house and aerated my yard with a bill attached to my door. I called and asked to speak with the manager. Steve came on the phone and apologized for what happened and told me to throw away the bill. I thought this was the end with this company. Today, I found ANOTHER bill hanging on my door saying they fertilized my yard. Why are you still coming to my house???? I called you twice now to cancel this. So, I called AGAIN and spoke with the manager Steve again and told him about the situation. I told him I spoke with him back in March and he lied and said it wasnt him. (I remember his voice and his name, PLUS he told me he was the owner! Hard to forget that) I told him this time I need something in writing explaing that I cancelled their services. HE HANGS UP ON ME!!!! I call back and ask for him again. I now am speaking with the Office Manager Chris (who is a woman by the way) and she tells me that I spoke with her back in March and that I didnt cancel the fertilization, but just the aeration. Are you serious?? (I didnt NOT speak with her. I spoke with Steve. I know if I spoke with a woman) She then proceeds to tell me that I didnt cancel all of their services, I just cancelled the aeration. WHAT?? I called and cancelled EVERYTHING!!! I want nothing to do with this company. She then told me they will not send me anything in writing that tells me I cancelled this service. I have been using Spring-Green Lawn Care for the past several years. I first called them when I discovered brown patches in my yard which were being caused mainly by grubs, but also a variety of other issues were present. Not only did their treatments eliminate the insect problems, but also my lawn seemed to spring back to life. I was then, and have continued to be delighted with their service, their attention to customers, their availability, their friendly and professional way of doing business--and of course, the results they have achieved with my lawn. Each year, we review their list of services and assess which ones would be appropriate for the current (and projected) condition of the yard.
