OMG this "doctor", is on the border of insane...and criminal. He clearly treated me differently (or sadly perhaps the same as other patients) because I showed up with state issued insurance. He inquired and was well versed in what exactly the insurance covered and wanted to pull five teeth - two with previous root canals and three with deteriorating cavities. When he saw my shock and was confronted with questions he turned to getting nasty with me. When told that a tooth with a cavity which no longer can be filled, should get a root canal, he told me that my insurance does not cover it. Mind you I came there with Medicaid as temp source and was soon switching to employer-based coverage. He was not concerned with my health or my smile.
I took my xrays and headed home, sad, and began researching a real dentist place. I went to see another doctor who diagnosed two teeth as healthy and needing fillings, one needing a root canal, and the two with previous root canals as good to go for the crowns. In other words, mr.allen totally misdiagnosed me. Previously when speaking with him, I asked him whether 10 other doctors would diagnose me the same, he replied that most likely I would get 10 different diagnoses. This cannot be the case in actuality. Furthermore, most services under Medicaid are free, for legit reason, however his staff told me that the planned procedure to pull the teeth would involve sedation which costs 300 of which only 100 is covered...ridiculous considering the financial situation of anybody on Medicaid.
I've since wrote this honest review to let people know about this joke of a doctor, and have filed a grievance over his practice with the state's Medicaid office.
Please do yourself and others a favor and do not go there, and if you do, you either won't return or he will ruin your teeth. He needs to shutdown the practice. read more
