This used to be the premier place to take your children in Denton. It WAS great.... Not any more.... They have really gone down hill since the new owners took over. For instance, the soap is watered down in the bathrooms, the paperwork/documentation is shabby, the owners make excuses for everything and never take care of the problem. State Inspection for January 6, 2011- "Ten employees did not have the current 24 month background check on file for licensing to review. One employee had not been fingerprinted" "I observed a caregiver who was in charge of 22 napping children in adjoining rooms. The caregiver was in one of the rooms and could not properly supervise the children who were napping alone in the other room" "I observed an eight year old child in the infant classroom" These are all listed as "HIGH / MEDIUM HIGH RISK LEVELS" In 2010 the State of Texas had the following issues with Springbok- "I observed medication records that only had the child's first name written on the log" With regard to feeding of infants- "I observed two (feeding) bottles that were not labeled.".... they could have fed children the wrong formula or milk "I observed an infant napping alone in a room. The caregiver was in the room next door with other infants" "2 of 7 caregivers gave an incorrect number when asked how many children they were responsible for at the time of the inspection" WOW!!!! thats all I have to say.................... read more

I was just researching this place based on a fundraiser I just went to where they were in attendance and had flyers. I thought the previous review might be out of date. I would caution parents against using this facility- awful experience. My kids were removed from springbok early 2017 after a HORRIBLE encounter with the owner, where she and other staff members mistreated my five year old daughter. The day we withdrew, the owner literally yelled at me and lunged at me red faced and angry in front of two other adults in the room. Incredibly unprofessional behavior. I hadn't talked to her since. With it being the new year, I sent her an email recently requesting the document showing what we had paid for the first part of the year for my income taxes. I also expressed in the email my disappointment with how horribly the situation had ended. No response. I sent a follow up email the next week and she quickly responded with the document and a catty insult about how she was "sorry to hear I'm not over it yet". She was apparently so upset by my emails that simply stated my opinions about our experience with her business, which I believe I am certainly entitled to have since it is a free country after all, that she ended up literally calling my place of employment in an attempt to get me in trouble for using my work email to contact her (I did not get in trouble by the way)- she did this almost A YEAR after the fact- the spitefulness and desperate need to try to have the last word is pathetic. Borderline stalker psycho behavior. I'd stay far away from this place if you want your kids in a kind or nurturing environment because springbok is anything but that. It's being run by a vindictive middle aged woman that behaves like a 14 year old girl. My kids entire demeanor and behavior changed drastically for the better once they were away from there. I really dislike writing negative reviews which is why all my other yelp reviews are positive, but when it comes to childcare I think it's important. Let me start this by saying I do not have any kids at this daycare. My review is 100% based on how they drive their little orange and yellow car. I drive on University a few times a day. In the last couple of weeks I have seen their car (cant miss it. Looks like a Cozy Coupe). EVERY TIME I see this car, it is driving not only unprofessional but dangerous. Weaving in and out of traffic, running a red light, speeding up way past the speed limit, and cutting people off to turn. I have not always seen the driver but have seen a man drive it twice. If you are going to be a rude and dangerous driver, dont do it in your company car. read more

I was previously employed here and there are some really amazing people who work, or come through Springbok but the management isn't always too amazing. I've seen so much go on with parents and other staff members during the time at Springbok, i wouldn't recommend anyone placing their children there unless they're doing Pre-K/Kindergarten. I've met some amazing people come through Springbok, but none usually stay because of the environment. I wouldn't recommend it as a job either. Once i left that place emotionally, and financially I've grown as a person, it will definitely hold you back. read more

I use to work at this place and from first hand experience as a worker... I wouldn't recommend this school. The management is not the best and the facility is not the cleanest either. They have a huge gnat problem and the only effort they put forth to rid of them was a cup of Apple cider vinegar that smelled like cat piss. In comparison to other facilities, this daycare sucks I feel as though they need a lot of improvements in the people they hire, and the facility itself. I should have wrote a review a long time ago. A friend of mine recently asked me what my experience was with this school and I told her to look on the dfps.state.tx.us website. I DID NOT have a good experience with this school. Come to find out, the state only keeps a HIGH risk review up for 2 years. Thus, the abuse of my daughter by a caregiver has already been removed. I feel like there was lack of information given to me from the owner and instead I was told by the Investigating Caseworker. My daughter attended this school when she was about 1 to 1 and a half. My oldest was 7. I started working for the Denton County Court House and I had done quite a bit of research on my daycare choices. When we arrived at Springbok, I was not excited and did not fall in love with the school, but it was lot better than the others I had seen. To me, the school looked run down and the lay out of the school was a maze. My husband said he felt confident that the kids were in good hands and that he assured me that Springbok was the best for them. I agreed. Fast forward 3 to 4 months late. I arrive at the daycare to pick my kids up. I had noticed the infant teacher, Ms. Chelsey, had not been there for a few days. I asked Ms. Casey where she was and was told that she had been let go. I thought, ok. I walk to the front to sign my kids out and I was approached by the owner. She pulled me aside and said there had been an incident with my daughter who was 1 and half. She said it was brought to her attention that Ms. Chelsey had popped my daughter on the mouth and that the owner assured me that Chelsey was fired and she brought it to the attention of the state. I felt confident that this was the case and appreciated the owner bringing it to my attention. I get a call about 2 days later from a state caseworker who wanted to discuss my daughter's incident. The state worker tell me something COMPLETELY different than the owner did. Apparently, my daughter was SLAPPED in the face, possibly on more than one occasion, and was THROWN into a pack in play for time out!!!!!! I AM LIVID!!! I am shaking, crying, and beyond angry. I speak to the caseworker for sometime. After I get off the phone I call the owner. I tell her everything I heard and demand to know why I was not told this in the beginning? She said that she told me what the caseworker said I should be told and that was all she knew. I informed her that was not the case and she and the caseworker needed to figure out their story because I was calling the police to press charges Ms. Chelsey and that the school would be brought up. I called the police and was given a detective. The detective spoke to the state caseworker, spoke to Ms. Casey, who was the one that reported the abuse, and spoke to the owner. Apparently, Ms. Casey changed her story of what was witnessed. I do not know if she did this because she was scared or what, but the story changed when the police became involved. Sadly, I was unable to press charges due to the main reporter of the abuse changing her story. I do not recommend this daycare. Sadly, there are very few daycares in the area that I do recommend, because I did quite a bit of research. But, please do not bring your children to this daycare if you feel ANY sense of it not having changed since my kids' attendance. read more

This place is truly awful. The building has some major cosmetic flaws. Toilets broken, EXTREMELY cluttered and disorganized. The owner is incredibly brash and rude. She really wants those payments so she'll keep even the worst kids who spit in your face enrolled. She claims to have a "clique free" workplace but the whole staff is one big clique. A few of the "teachers" are so unprofessional. They are huge pot stirrers. The good teachers have quit a while ago. They don't like to tell you when there are issues. They all talk behind your back and then accuse you of things you never did and don't listen to what you have to say. Nothing is up to date and the bathrooms were DISGUSTING each time I used them. The whole place is a huge mess. I really don't understand the good reviews I see about this place. I felt so uncomfortable and unwelcomed here. I'd take my child to a day care somewhere else where this isn't happening with staff. read more

Springbok Academy is a wonderful place to have your children. Both of my kids, ages two and five, are thriving and love "school". The teachers are very friendly and really seem to love what they do. I highly recommend this preschool if you are looking for a fun, safe and academic rich environment for your child. read more
