Before scheduling a service call, he even suggested a few troubleshooting steps I could try myself at no charge in hopes of resolving the issue and saving me money. When that didn't work, he arranged for a technician to come out the very same day. I was given a two-hour service window, and the technician called about 45 minutes beforehand to let me know he could arrive about 30 minutes early. He was friendly, professional, and understood that I was working under a time constraint. The technician diagnosed the problem within minutes, had the necessary part on his truck, and completed the repair in about 20 minutes--finishing before my scheduled service window even began. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and took the time to explain everything clearly. What impressed me most was that neither Bob nor the technician tried to upsell me on anything. In fact, they seemed genuinely focused on finding the most cost-effective solution and saving me money whenever possible. Excellent communication, prompt service, honest pricing, and quality work. The communications with this company already seemed a bit sketchy from the get-go, with messages that someone's vehicle broke down and that they needed to send another person out. Granted, it was late at night and this was the only company that would be able to fix my garage door that night, so I went with it. I was suckered into purchasing "upgraded" spring and cable components, paying nearly $2000 (at which price I probably could have just purchased a new garage door). I requested for them to give me a written warranty, and they never did, only an invoice with a company that didn't even seem at all garage-related (is this company a complete sham?). Despite this, I figured maybe the work they did was OK -- initially, the garage door seemed to work fine. Over the ensuing months, however, I heard persistent squeaking despite lubricating all moving components every 1-2 months. Then suddenly, one of the cables came loose, just nine months after it had supposedly been replaced, causing my garage door to become unbalanced and unable to close. I had considered contacting them, but I really didn't trust them to correctly repair the mistakes they made. I went with another company that seemed significantly more legitimate who noted that the cables seemed "old" and they showed me all the fraying, likely indicating that the "new" cables that Space Garage Door placed were either not so new or they wore down extremely quickly by the shoddy job they did. The other company was able to replace the springs and cable for under $1000. Overall, I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend using this company. Who knows if "Space Garage Door Repair" or their owner(s) is/are operating different scam operations under different names. Their website looks polished with all sorts of listed legitimate accolades from Google, BBB, etc, none of which I was able to independently verify. I also do not plan on sending future project requests via Yelp to all companies that Yelp suggests -- scams like this really have put me on heightened alert, and I will be thoroughly vetting companies before even requesting them to come out for a quote

Professionalism: the lady they have working in their office could probably do with some customer service etiquette training. The service person also cancelled 3x before coming out to fix the gate with no explanation of service charges or an estimate before finishing the work. I told my mom going forward please get everything in writing from all people providing services, but I believe most professionals would give you a break down of services to be rendered so you don't get charged 314 dollars for changing the batteries in an automatic gate. Communication: my mom had to get in touch with the lady in their office several times in order to get a quote with part numbers and weirdly the numbers on the verbal and email estimates kept changing, leading us to believe they're not really charging based on anything written down. I think it's super unprofessional to not follow up with an invoice or estimate rendered but that's our fault for chasing them down, we should have just left it alone. Accusation: I overheard the woman on the phone say that my mom didn't want to pay the bill we were given and my mom explained the service person didn't take payment at the time of service like other people in other industries have done. The woman argued with my mom about the bill when my mom asked if she was going make changes to the invoice and send her an updated invoice. My mom explained the service person gave her nothing but the carbon for the 314 dollar estimate.
