After reading positive reviews about Spring Roll, I went to give it a try. The plan was to get the spring rolls and pho. When I saw deep fried tofu on the menu, I ordered that instead. It turned out to be a mistake. The tofu was breaded and fried--not the way it's supposed to be done. Instead of tofu with crunchy skin on the outside, what I got was tofu covered with breadcrumbs. It wasn't tasty, but there was a lot of it. Well, onto the pho. The broth was definitely on the weak side. I had to ask for the fish sauce. Instead of lime, the soup came with a piece of lemon. There was no bean sprouts, no onion, and no basil. The amount of beef is generous though. Overall, Spring Roll was a bit of a disappointment. Given the higher prices, I expected the food to be better. read more
