I never thought that I would be writing a Yelp review for a mortgage company, and yet here I am -…read moreLaura and Jeremy at Trident were seriously THAT good! My husband and I recently purchased a home and worked with an agent at Berkshire Hathaway. Full disclosure, Trident is the in-house mortgage company there, but our agent never pressured us to use them, which we appreciated. We shopped around for the best deal, and were immediately impressed by how helpful and friendly Laura was; even before we committed to working with Trident, she and Jeremy spent time researching different interest rates and loan programs we could qualify for, which just felt very "above and beyond." We did ultimately get the best rate and package from Trident, and I was consistently blown away by how responsive, responsible, patient and kind Laura was as we moved through the process. I was absolutely caught off guard by how much paperwork and back-and-forth was involved in getting a mortgage (SO MUCH. Seriously.) and Laura answered all our questions quickly, professionally, and most importantly, thoroughly - I never felt like I was annoying her, even though I was nervous I was annoying her (sorry, Laura!). At one point, I actually told my mom how pleasant our mortgage process was, and she laughed and said, "No one says that about their mortgage broker!" We had a 45 day closing on our house, which seemed really fast to me, but Trident made it seamless, smooth, and as painless as handing over your entire life-savings can be - I hope I don't buy another house soon, but if I was ever in the market, I would hands-down work with Laura and her team again.

We vetted several lenders to work with, but Jeremy and his team came out on top, and we'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for financing options in the Philadelphia area and beyond. Special shoutout to Colleen to her quick communication!

As was the case when I was on the market as a buyer, Rachel is easy to work with and very knowledgeable about the market and the neighborhood. I really appreciated that she was transparent about the how/why of her pricing recommendations and listing strategy (taking the time to talk through every detail if that's what I needed) and I trusted her completely. A few other 'perks' that I didn't realize to look for in a realtor but were invaluable in my house selling experience: - Rachel has been doing this a long time, and has incredible insight on what types of updates to consider/prioritize that will increase the value and interest in the house (which was very helpful for me because my house needed some major refreshing, but with a very tight budget) - she has a list of recommended trades persons for any work you need to hire for (and will even recommend different shades of white paint for that fresh coat that you may want to apply before listing!) - she is SO responsive! No waiting around for a reply when you have a question/concern/need... she gets back so quickly and manages to thoroughly address the question/concern/need in the simplest way. - she is approachable and easy to work with, and also really savvy and strategic on getting the best possible outcome for her client I loved working with Rachel, and highly recommend her and the Philly Home Girls team for your real estate needs! An all-around positive (and successful!! she got my house sold so quickly, and over asking!) experience!

If you're looking to buy or sell Real Estate, I would highly recommend that you consider Remax Home…read moreExperts. In full disclosure, I have known John Benson (RHE's owner & broker) for over 20 years, and ultimately chose him based on our friendship rather than a referral or advertisement. That aside, from a business and professional perspective, it turned out to be the wisest decision we could have possibly made. Based on his performance and the performance of all of the businesses/resources in his reach, I am absolutely confident he and Remax Home Experts extends the same dedication and service to all potential clientele. Our situation was extremely difficult to begin with. We were in the waning months of recovering from a disastrous move to the Northern Mariana Islands. Because of the way mortgage entities operate, our forward financial projections (which were very promising) meant nothing, and we were stuck with the shaky positions of our past financial history during the qualification process. Further, while we had the means to pay for a mortgage on a monthly basis, we had very little in savings and virtually no leverage to bargain with should a tight negotiation ensue. All-in-all, we were very difficult clients from the start. Further, the time we chose to look for a house was most likely the most difficult era for homebuyers since the 1970's. While the guise of a 'buyer's market' emanated through the media filter, the plain fact was that the terrible decisions of the financial industry and the repercussions of the collapse of so many financial institutions made it nearly impossible to secure a mortgage, especially given our personal financial situation. Mr. Benson took all of this into account from the start and used a very diligent, realistic approach to help us buy a home. Sadly, he didn't know what he was in for with us. Over the course of almost a year, we looked at over a hundred properties and made several offers. Because of the difficulties with obtaining a mortgage (banks absolutely did not want to lend money to anyone at that time,) and a litany of other problems, such as, inspection failures, inept foreclosure processes, inabilities to obtain Occupancy Certs, etc... (you name it and it happened,) each and every offer fell apart. In this time, I realized just how awful many Realtors and Real Estate Brokers can be at their profession. Many, many times, our intent to buy a home from a Realtor was squashed not by the seller or the financial process; but by the laziness, half-hearted approach, or simply complete incompetence of the Realtor, him/herself. My wife and I were astonished on several occasions by the tepid and duplicitous practices of many of these folks, and often, we found ourselves wondering how it was that these folks made any income whatsoever selling Real Estate. Trust me, our experience with 90 percent of these other Realtors was worse than my limited vocabulary can muster in this review. Luckily, we were absolutely blessed with having Mr. Benson & Remax Home Experts representing us. This was an extremely difficult process all-the-way around. John & his staff explained the potential difficulty from day one, and, rather than walking away from the start, stuck with us until the grueling process was at last completed. On several occasions, Mr. Benson actually prevented us from giving it up altogether. Even in the darkest days of our frustration, he never lost his resilience and dedication to the job at hand; all the while maintaining a realistic and honest approach to the situation and the range of homes we should be considering. There was never a gimmick, nor a false-promise given. Everything came from a sound, wise and competent perspective. Things we want are difficult to get. Mr. Benson clearly understands that and made an astounding effort to help us reach the ultimate goal. My wife and I now live in a lovely home in Quakertown thanks to Remax Home Experts and specifically, thanks to John's great strength and dedication to his profession. I'm not big on saying I couldn't do something without someone; but in this case, My wife and I absolutely could not have done this without Remax Home Experts. If you're in need of a Realtor, take my advice; give Remax Home Experts a call. PS: They Recently moved to a new address. I believe it's: 530 S. 2nd Street Suite 109 Philadelphia, PA 19147 ::::

After realizing that the rental market…read moreis a complete ripoff for a single person making less than $50,000 a year, I decided to try and buy something. Landlords have made it nearly impossible to find an affordable apartment in decent area. Some places charge more than $3 a foot for something about as big as my old apartment's living room. The first place I saw when I pulled up a search was Kuranda Financial Mortgage. I had heard the commercials over the years and driven by the office countless times. I figured I would give them a call. It was the smartest thing I've done in years. Justin Morrison picked up the phone. I could tell he had the kind of personality I could work with. Very professional and respectful. He was able to qualify me for a small condo without a problem in just a few minutes. He referred me to an excellent real estate agent who he works great in tandem with. What a winning team. Even though my credit was fine, I had an issue that he was able to tackle while still maintaining the best possible interest rate. In addition, although I carry no debt, the mortgage itself created a higher debt ratio than most lenders like to see. My own credit union wouldn't touch my loan. Let me now say that I used to be a loan officer years ago for a short time. Since the early 1990s I have heard loan officers and commercials boasting about closing a home loan in 3 weeks. Reality is that only the hardest working loan officers can accomplish this and many times it requires a bit of luck. So these promises of quick closings fall apart more often than not. I was recently listening to a The Jim Rome Show on Tune In Radio and a mortgage company claimed came on and said they could close a REFINANCE (much easier to close a refi faster than a home purchase) in 3 weeks. Well, in this day and age I would hope they could. By contrast, the only reason Justin didn't set up our closing in 3 weeks OR LESS is because we agreed with the seller to close in 30 days in the sales contract. Amazingly Justin was able to do everything over the phone or via email throughout the entire process. I still have not met him in person. I can tell you he is one of the most professional hard working people I have EVER had the pleasure of dealing with. When I'm spending my hard earned money, I refuse to deal with arrogance, not getting things done, and a lack of communication. Justin literally helped save me from the cold, harsh rental market. I now own something for the same cost as what I was paying at my apartment. That low rent no longer exists as the landlord basically gentrified me out of there by raising the rent from $910 a month for 875 square feet to $1600 or $1700. Good riddance!
