As I wrote back in Feb '25, my opinion has drastically changed. I agree with Perla, who wrote in March '22. He is very rude. I am not saying he is not a good dentist; I am telling you of my experience with R. Gampa. The office is friendly but understaffed and incompetent; it seems that the wrong insurance company was billed 16 times. You would think after 2 denials that maybe there was a problem. Gampa is only worried about getting paid. He will perform 1 procedure and then make you wait for another appt. till he receives his insurance money. I have had 1 cleaning (5 natural teeth) is all I have, and was charged as if I had a whole set of teeth, then he filled 1 cavity since my writing in Feb '25. Both times I sat in his chair, he was hesitant in starting my dental work as he looked over my benefits in his computer, for you see, I am on Government assistance now, which I am ashamed of, but I paid into it, so now I am forced to use it. I was working full-time with great insurance before my son was killed in a tragic accident. I was having dental procedures done by another dentist when the accident happened. High-dollar implants to be exact. He questioned me BOTH times I was in his chair about why I don't have the dentist who put the implants in do the rest of the work I need. I explained I no longer work due to depression caused by mourning, so I filed for SS, and this is the insurance I have. He made me feel as if I could go to the other dentist and pay him cash, then come to him with this welfare card. He actually told me after my 1st visit that real soon he would not be taking my insurance, which left me with more anxiety of "will I be able to finish my dental procedures, will I have to shop for yet another dentist and explain again?" I would call the office, trying to make another appt. to not get any reply. I made another attempt to have Gampa answer his own office phone at closing time. When I said my name I heard the biggest sigh....then he said, "How are you?" I felt so uncomfortable that I wanted to hang up on him. I asked for another appointment and was told he is waiting for payment to call back in a week. It had already been 6 weeks since I had my filling. Maybe if you stop billing the wrong insurance company, you could receive payment, and the 5 teeth I actually still have won't rot out of old age. That was IT. I decided to get another dentist. The next morning, I found an office. I left a message at Spring Dental for my records to be sent to my new dentist. I am happy with the work he performed. I am opposed to his mannerisms. He is hard to understand but along with his facial expressions, body language and lines of BS, I understood completely. I do believe if I had presented him with any other means of insurance that wasn't government assistance, there would have been NO PROBLEM. So my question is...why did you accept me in the 1st place? Just to humiliate someone? Every time I left his office, that is how I felt. It took me so long to find a dentist. I just made the determination he was an A Hole and IDC, I just want my teeth fixed. I will get them completed. But I will say, if I had not found another dentist, I still would HAVE NOT RETURNED to R. GAMPA or Spring Dental for the 6 months of procrastination and total BS. He made me feel like a begging peasant looking for a handout, and I do understand the government does not do things in a timely fashion, but you will EVENTUALLY be paid. Where is your moral? read more
