This review is for no gap dental in Wynyad…read more I had my appointment at 2.00 PM. I went there little bit early at around 1.55 and was told that all staff were on lunch break. Till 2.14 there was no one at the reception. I finally was taken to the dentist. I only had a sensitive tooth. So doctor Kishan Keshwara spent lot of time explaining me advantages of doing a full check up. I was during my lunch break, hence i have asked him to attend to my sensitive tooth on left side of my mouth. He then took two set of x-rays and said there are lot of teeth need attention and started doing two fillings. I am no medical expert, however this is what he did for the fillings, he pump air to clean up around the teeth and then applied some sort of a paste that filled the gaps and the cracks on the teeth. Whole process took less than 10 min. I was out by 2.26. The best part is then I was told two of the fillings ( item number 531 and 532) are not covered by my medical insurence. Note that I have the second best cover with CBHS. And has not used any dental for this year. So guess what the bill was $330 (all other x-rays - there were about 5 other items which they charge were covered by the fund) . I am no medical expert, however the dentist did not use any needle nor used any equipment to clean up the teeth, all that was done was putting the cream and then some sort of a light. I am very unhappy for the charges. However i will let experts decide what his procedure is acceptable or not as i am no expert. For me, never to no gap dental in Wynyard again.

This is pretty busy but very efficient and prompt services so that we rarely have to wait for long. When we enter the waiting room we are required to turn off our mobile telephones (yes, I think it's common sense). If you are a member of HCF you can get dental check up and whitening service twice a year also once every two years you can take x-rays for free of charge. JYI: Next door to this dental centre, there is HCF Eye Care Centre. I will write a review regarding Eye Care Centre soon.

The first week of January is apparently holiday time for everyone in Australia. I reached out to family and friends for dentist recommendations...nothing! Then I went onto YELP and found this place....no one has ever reviewed. :-0! Scary! So I gambled Shot the dice I was in so much pain, I just needed relief and this place was ONE BLOCK AWAY! Its across the street from the big mall here I entered into the Dr's office and I was pleasantly surprised It was modern and sleek with a friendly receptionist. I filled out the forms The Dr saw me right away (BTW: this was an emergency appointment for me!) Dr Wu, I believe, was very calm and kind.... I had my X-Rays sent to me from the USA so he could see what was going on. WoW. Good thing he took another set of X-Rays and he found the issue with a slice of my old filling slipped in between my two back teeth! Oh the pain! The dentist dived in and worked hard for 15+ minutes to remove the sliver. OMG! He successfully did! Wow I'm so pleased This was the best dentist experience I've EVER had...(I'm 54!) (For those who have never had the pleasure of wearing braces, one can easily burn through 8 - 10 of these daily.) Going without wearing them for an entire week was not an option: it would simply prolong the tedious process of adult braces. We decided to scope out an orthodontist in the Sydney area. The concierge at our hotel gave us a name of a dentist about eight blocks from our hotel. I must confess I was none too happy spending the first day of my vacation marching the beautiful metropolitan area searching for some mother blooming rubber bands. After a few wrong turns and 40 minutes later we walked into a dental office Down Under. Not where I expected to be on my first day in Australia. We waited, myself very unpatiently, only to find that they did have what we needed. We probed them for an alternative and were sent several blocks further south to Todays Dental. We trudged into their office and waited for some help. The receptionist was a bit confused as to what we needed: obviously this was not a typical request. Initially we were told we would need to see the doctor. I groaned inwardly, calculating the cost of this misstep. About ten minutes later Dr. Theresa Lee greeted us: an irritable wife and her long-suffering husband. We again explained the situation. She asked my husband several questions and briefly looked at his appliance. She smiled and said she would be back shortly. I figured she's thanking the dental gods for the extra ka-ching these two hapless Americans would be bringing. She returned moments later with a bag of the coveted rubber bands. She informed us that they are slightly different than what he had been using; explaining the differences. She handed us her business card and told us that if we have any questions or problems while in Sydney to contact her. She would be "happy to help." No charge. No fee. No hassle. Phew! Thank you, Dr. Lee, for helping us out. You certainly saved our vacation and might have just even saved our marriage!
