But there is plenty of room between them, so you don't feel like you are on top of each other. The place was completely full. The staff did an excellent job keeping the bathroom clean and stocked. All in all this is a great place to camp! It is a great family place too. Swimming, boating, hiking, fishing. You name it. We will go again if we are back in the area. I would recommend reservations if you are there on a weekend.... Especially a holiday weekend! There are electric and non-electric sites only. No full hookups.

The campsites are spread out so you feel you have privacy for the most part. They have a nice shower room facility that is free. Our family had a blast fishing and enjoying the outdoors. The marina has a nice restaurant and alot of different fun bikes to rent. Definitely stay here, it's reasonable and beautiful! Campground 3 is the best in my opinion because the campsites are right next to the water and there are great shore fishing spots.

You can walk along Medicine Creek and watch the sun rise and set over the fields. The Garnos family is actually one of the original settlers of the area and the ranch itself was established in 1890. They are great people who still work the land themselves. Make sure when your there to go see the Lyman County Pioneer Museum and both the settlers memorial and the war memorial. I found it amazing just how much history is documented right there!:) FYI there is also the Medicine Creek Golf Course right next door. The food is cooked with love and leaves you excited about what is on the menu next and the rooms are clean and quiet. It is so nice to have a full bathroom in each room too. There is a huge tv in a comfy living room to unwind together, but honestly, we rarely use it since we are all just having too much fun catching up and disconnecting from the "real" world. Our family comes for the fishing and have such a great time with our favorite guides Emily and Brad (aka 5-0). They are professional and friendly and they know that Lake Oahe! Always sure to catch our walleye limit and pick up some other great species along the way. Great boats and gear. We are so spoiled now after coming here for years. Once the catch is through, they clean the fish and package it all up ready for us to take home when our vacation is over. Be sure to give them a try. You won't regret the memories you make.

The Fort Pierre National Grassland is located in the center of South Dakota, north of I-90 and is a…read moremassive 116,000 acre national park. I think it's the largest park I have ever reviewed. The address for this "business" is for the Park Ranger district office in Fort Pierre, where you can pick up a map (a must) and get some general information about the parkland. Its shrubby hillsides are home to whitetail and mule deer, while the hundreds of earthen dams provide lush habitat for waterfowl, shorebirds, and fish. Given the right amount of precipitation and sunlight, the spring and summer months of the central South Dakota prairie come alive with wildflowers of different shapes, colors, and sizes. As the spring progresses into summer, native grasses create just as stunning a display as the flowers. I had the opportunity to view the grassland from US-83 between Vivian and Pierre. It's 35 miles and it's just so amazingly peaceful. I pulled off the road a couple of times just to stop and listen to ... nothing. Just the sounds of the wind in the grass and the quiet ticking of a cooling engine. I'm not a camper or a boondocker - I need Internet for work - but I can definitely understand people who will take a tent and a backpack and a full bottle of bug spray and just hike into nowhere.
