Absolutely appalled, no words will ever be able to convey my feelings after witnessing a situation…read moreunfold that directly involved this churches new pastor!
Late in the night, I overheard this pastor berate, belittle, and then watched him abandon a family, with two children, one special needs, all because he "DIDNT BELIEVE THEIR STORY"! My husband and I watched the pastor here leave them sitting in a car on a freezing night in the pouring rain, at a hour where there wasn't any other church or any where open for them left. My husband and i decided regardless of what this story was, we would get them in a room and a pizza. In the morning we stopped by the room, after some proding they finally explained all they had been through and how they initially felt blessed to meet this pastor, after their original plans for a place that night fell apart. They shared how this pastor very obviously questioned them after they stopped at this church to ask for some help for the night. The couple mentioned the name of a few places that were supposed to be involved in their situation. Now I am so sorry, but I don't care if they said that pigs flew or dogs talked, this family was in obvious need, on a cold wet night, had children with them, and there youngest had an obvious disability, what kind of man of God simply walks away and leaves them without shelter or a meal, simply because he felt they weren't being completely honest with him and simply just left them like trash, all because they couldn't produce a license? Do you know how many times I have lost the or that, including my license?! A good man of faith doesn't jump to judgement at the cost of possibly punishing people who ultimately had been through enough already! How could a true Christian, let alone a pastor, treat a family in need so horribly? I clearly heard him speak down at them, drilling first the young woman then the husband about details, picking each apart. This pastor obviously had poor intentions towards this family when he met them in the motel parking lot, and when he found a poor excuse to do so, he made darn sure they felt even more belittled, before taking his leave, not giving any care to the fact he was leaving two children out in the freezing rain for the night, without even leaving them a meal? As this pastor smugly told these parents he was no longer going to help get a room for their children to sleep he started waving a few dollars in the face
of the woman's husband, who we then saw refuse the money.I still can't stress enough, the reason for their need shouldn't have ever been a factor, fellow neighbors in need should've been the only concern of this man of God, but since it mattered enough to pass judgement that lead to promised help being yanked out and further the suffering of a family whos "story" was verified by not only the church they spoke of, the garage who fixed the car, and a housekeeper who was present when they discovered their car vandalized.
I am still simply boiling over witnessing this pastors actions! Enough so that I took a moment to share what I witnessed here. I can only imagine what it would be like to be in a situation like this, turn to my pastor, only to experience further humiliation, and be left in the cold with my children. There just isn't any justification for what was witnessed by my husband and me, especially by a PASTOR! As I try daily to live by the good books teachings, I rarely judge others actions, or assume I know anothers reason for their actions, yet in this situation I witnessed, the only explanation is simple cruelness, which leads me to believe that the man at the head of this church has no business holding a true pastors position in any church. I strongly encourage everyone to boycott service and all activities here until they remove the individual who currently sits as their pastor.
No one who brings themself to God's door step asking simply for some shelter and a bit of food for their family should ever have to pass "inspection" before help may be given, or worse have help promised, dangled like a carrot, then have it ripped away, with humiliation given instead. Never in my long life have I been witness to actions such as this by a pastor, and I hope to never again come in contact with him, no time soon will I be able to forget hearing his tone, his words and watching his actions towards a family in need and the look of total humiliation on the couple's face. I am just thankful when the brand new pastor of this church turned his back on them, my husband and I were able to do God's work in his place!
