Sprague Lake Resort is a hidden gem. Located at the east end of the lake with a beautiful sunset view from the camp area. The floods this year have made the fishing dock unobtainium but the quiet pastoral scene is unchanged. Wonderful bird sounds fill the air. We make a point of stopping here mid week when there are no crowds and often have the place to ourselves. Monica is always friendly and glad to see us. read more

Quiet. Not a luxury resort but the grounds are clean and grassy. Good fishing with clean tables in every site. Lady was very attentive. Some have complained about mosquitoes, they are not mosquitoes, there were one or two but not a big deal. There are some bugs but not that bad. The trains come by at night but they are not that bothersome. Good place to stay. read more

This review was from a couple of years ago but worth me re-posting to warn others who may be searching for a nice place to stay or fish. I am posting this due to the fact that I wish to warn other travelers - particularly new people who are NOT from the area - about what to expect from this area and this place. First off, I am new to the state and was recommended to come here to fish. I drove over an hour from the other side of Spokane only to find a dry, ugly town right off the freeway and train tracks...totally abandoned and somewhat scary. It was seriously like something out of the movie Deliverance. Since I had driven all that way, I decided to check out the docks for fishing at Sprague Lake "Resort." What a joke - resort. Really??? I attempted to park in a reasonable spot (nothing is marked well) and was immediately accosted by an elderly lady who I assume runs the place or otherwise works at the "office" place. She demanded that I register, pay, etc, etc, etc. Didn't even give me four seconds to explain that I was sorry - would gladly move my car, pay, and actually had some questions for her regarding any additional regulations I should be aware of. She stormed off back into the "office" while I was in mid-sentence after cutting me off. I re-parked and went physically out to check out what the end of the dock looked like. Lots and lots of seaweed, no shade, ugly "view." I decided I should at least be polite and return back up to the office and let the lady know. She was already on her way back down. She became irate that I wasn't going to stay and fish. I returned to my car and not more than two minutes later, she was at my car window, demanding that I leave because I was taking up a spot from other paying customers. Ironically I was attempting to google (from my phone) where the nearest bathrooms were that were NOT in this scary town but had grabbed my $5 that I would have used to pay to fish and was going to ask if I could instead pay the $5 and use the bathroom. Didn't even get that far with the lady who proceeded to yell at me through my car window and WOULD NOT PHYSICALLY MOVE FROM MY CAR while demanding I leave. I had to very sternly ask her to back up out of the way so that I could pull out of my spot several times before she actually moved. Needless to say, I will never be returning, will recommend people avoid this place like the plague and will be writing as many reviews detailing my experience as possible in the effort to save other people from something like this happening to them. Thanks a bunch for ruining my day, lady. *Also, check out the 2 reviews that were NOT recommended about this place. Def a YELP fail because their experiences were EXACTLY like mine and during the same time frame. Maybe the hag is gone, which would certainly be an improvement. Arrived to fish with my brother and my 3 young kids (no sitter). Only one of them was fishing so we had three rods to put in the water, the other two would have to just tool around the dock while we fished. The lady in charge told me i had to pay $5 each even though the 5 & 7 year old were not fishing, just because they were on the property. We then fished four hours on the dock with clouds of gnats flying in our ears and mouths. We caught two trout and left. The owner is unreasonable and so cheap it really blew me away. She obviously doesn't want return customers. Do yourself a favor and FISH SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

This place is straight out of a horror film. Creepy permanent neighbors who walk through the campground with flashlights at night, dirty bathrooms, coin operated showers, tons of little bugs, and a train that shakes the ground and blows it's very loud horn every 25 min at night. This place is by no means a "resort." Go somewhere else!! read more

Just stopped here this afternoon to check out this so-called Resort and was told to pay $6 just to park and let my dog out of the car for a couple of minutes to check it out. I wasn't even given a chance to ask questions about camping or amenities. Not a friendly or welcoming place. read more

We called to check on overnight availability. Greeted by a charming lady who walked us around the grounds to help us choose a site. Backed into a spot that overlooked the lake. A most beautiful location. Wonderful fresh breeze and excellent grassy retreat. No concrete pads but well maintained lawn. Hookups are convenient. This is a bird sanctuary area so bring your bird book. Some may object to train noise from across the lake but it was no problem for us... we slept, as the saying ones, like babies! When in area again, we'll be back! Oh yea, my wife said tell about the price...we thought it was very reasonable, with sort of a menu of services and location desired. read more

The owner or manager of this resort is stingy and unfriendly. We stopped by to check out the place for a future visit. It was off-season but very hot outside. I asked if I could let my geriatric, lame golden retriever take a one minute swim at the boat launch and that I would immediately put her back in the van. She wanted five dollars! And was unfriendly about it. There were no other guests that I could see, no boats being launched, no swimmers or fishermen. Because of her attitude, I wouldn't stay here if you paid me. read more
