I went to the Village Theater in Canton just last night for a community event.  The team at the…read moretheater was professional, helpful, engaged and responsive.  It was a pleasure to work with the great staff and wonderful volunteers.  The parking was ample.  All the signage was readable, easy to understand and to follow. The theater itself and grounds are all kept up well.  The seating is spacious and the individual seats are comfortable.  We were fortunate to have the function catered and were very happy with the accommodations provided by the theater to the company bringing in the food and drink. The lighting and technical staff are all first rate.  We had a changeup at the last minute and their professionalism walked us right through it.  I will be looking forward to attending other events at this venue.  I recommend it highly.

Wow, I really loved this place. I wasn't expecting it to be this nice? It's not a huge theatre, and…read moreaccording to the usher it seats about 400, but the place is really top notch. Walking in, there's a beautiful lobby with 2 murals and its all done up. I walked to the actual theatre area where I was immediately greeted by a very professional usher. She asked if I had been here before, and I told her no. She pleasantly told me all the features of the theatre, where the bathrooms were, the FREE COAT CHECK, snack and wine area, and a whole bunch of other cool stuff about the theatre. This was extremely usful! What a great thing instead of getting "your seated to the left." While I waited in the main part of the theatre lobby, I noticed that they have a rotating monthly art exhibition with artists names and prices. Neat! Also, the bathrooms were clean, with lots of stalls and well stocked with all the essentials. The theatre itself was clean, and the seats were easy to find. While I was waiting for the show to start, I noticed that they have a lot of different shows here at different prices. Some are for adults, some are for kids, and they notate if it's "family friendly" or not. Also, the prices are very reasonable. Even though this place is a bit out of the way for me, I loved coming here! Parking is a bit tight, so I got there early to ensure a good spot close to the doors since it's super cold outside. Also, I would love to come back and see more performances since it does seem to have a nice variety of stuff going on here.

We had a good year there and then they wouldn't accommodate my daughter anymore. Until recently my…read moredaughter was still upset about the treatment she received then another student she does to school with also quit do to the unprofessional way the owner Mary behaved. The mother and I talked after they quit at a school event and I told her that it helped my daughter to know that it was just her that had a bad experience. The other mom didn't know what had happened to my daughter. I have been more vocal later on. Mary accommodated our daughter for a year and then because the studio got more students in the classes she said our daughter wasn't allowed to be in classes we had already signed her up for and said she could only dance with other disabled kids and her brother. They even stopped teaching her private acro after they had been teaching her almost the whole year acro privately. We had a note from the doctor that said it was safe for my daughter to participate in dance and gymnastics. In fact they encouraged it. Courtney, one of the teaches asked me in front of my daughter if the doctor's knew what gymnastic were. Because Mary had talked to another mother who happens to be a special education 0-3 teacher about my daughter's Spina Bifida and a student she had that broke her femur and they didn't know. My daughter can feel her femur and she was 10 years old. Each case is different with Spina Bifida even though there are some similarities. For a dance teacher to talk to another parent about my daughter without me present or my permission is so unprofessional and the parent should have known better as she was a special education teacher. I only have an Associates degree in Early Childhood and Special Education, but I can't tell how many times they said the most important thing was confidentiality. I helped in class a lot and would always be available pitch and advise what moves she could do and we practiced at home and she took a private to keep up with the other girls. I talked to many dance studios and then signed her up at Central City where she did very well, and all of them said we didn't have to do a private lesson and she would just keep up with what she could. Central City teachers had so many more students and they worked wonderfully with my daughter. Mary told us that she and Courtney had a very hard time choregraphing to accommodate my daughter. Her ballet class had 3 girls total. What is that to say about my choregraphing that you can't choregraph for a rec class students with different abilities. I have helped teach dance and gymnastics and the kids will all have different abilities. So if you have a kid who is tough and you don't care if the teacher is talking about other students and parents about your child and with the children than this could be the place for your child.

We got chicken, corn on cob & potato chips & a cookie. The chicken is always awesome & tasty! We love this annual event, along with the great people watching! The bands this year were exceptional and people were even dancing with their dogs! I should have gotten a video because it was so much fun to see this one guy dancing on the lawn with his Great Dane! We saw that man who dresses up like Abraham Lincoln too! The weather was great and a great time was had by all! Thank you to the city of Plymouth for having these great functions & getting families to make memories together. See you next year!!
