To be honest those are both great hills, but the lineups can be insane. Mont Orford on the other hand is a lesser known hill with a good number runs, a Gondola, Chalet and a good assortment of trails. There's no real "village", which I consider a positive because alot of the time people in the village aren't even skiing or snowboarding - just taking up space. 100% of the employees speak French though, and not all speak perfect English so bare that in mind, and be patient and respectful.

No matter the weather, you can count on Bromont to have snow on the slopes. They've got tons of snow blowers that pump out fake snow to start out the season and they typically get a nice amount of snow during the normal ski season. Overall impressed with how they're handling the covid situation. Also, for this hill being an hour out of Montreal, the size is great. Definitely double in size, if not slightly more than other hills up north that are equidistant. Can't wait to return to this mountain to ski, and hopefully climb in the summer!

On the school hill there is a conveyer belt that you hop on and it takes you up. Be careful when getting in and off of it. Intermediate and advanced skiers were having the time of their lives zipping down the hills. Wonderful experience. We were there on Nuit Blanche and my only complaints are that the conveyer belt for the beginner hill closed at 11pm, when the event went all the way till 2am. There is also no food or water anywhere nearby.

I was a bit dismayed to discover that they no longer sell secondhand skis, that was such a great service to the community, but in the end I went with new and was super happy with my decision. They offered an excellent price for the whole kit - boots, skis, and poles. They are pretty basic but exactly what I need, lightweight and comfortable and just my size. The service from everyone was friendly, chill, helpful, funny, just great. I love that they have a quality control station where someone makes sure everything you bought is in good working order before you go. And I love how much outdoor equipment they have from Montreal companies. Now... if it'll just stop raining...

Poubelle du Ski has been around for a long time and they know their stuff. They also have outdoor active wear like pants and coats. Some notes on ambiance. This place is normally packed so be patient. They'll get you what you need but sometimes the place is busting at the seams so a little patience goes a long way. Éric and Yan helped me out this time around and when I tell you these guys know what they're doing I mean it. I'm a hard for for boots both hockey and ski but these guys knew exactly what to grab if one bit wasn't working. My visit to be fitted for ski boots and hockey skates took a couple of hours but again that's down to me being a hard fit. Don't feel rushed by the atmosphere, take your time and pick the right boot or skate or coat or whatever it is you're looking for. The staff will never rush you.

I had called about 5 minutes from closing and the employee who answered the phone took the extra time to check something for me even though I had said it wasnt necessary. Then, the next day, in stores, the guy dealing with snowboard gear and repairs took at least a good 20 minutes of his time to help me fix an issue and when I asked where I had to go to pay for the replacement parts, the guy tells me there's no charge (mind you it was the first time I ever went to the store; I'm not a returning customer). I was orignally told on the phone the replacement parts would cost 20$ which I would have gladly paid otherwise. I specifically made a yelp account, so that I could leave this review. My experience at their shop was absolutely positive. 10/10 would go again.

It's a small place concentrating on mid- to high-level gear meant to be used a lot. Really nice. And good contrast to the ski shop right at Mont Sutton, which is quite flashy and more expensive.
