We only chose this bed and breakfast as it was the cheapest we could find, but after staying there my boyfriend realised why it was so cheap and did not return.

Location - well located about 10 mins out of the city centre, be warned a taxi from the train station costs you a tenner. It's walking distance from the 2 main hospitals. The owner/staff - absolutely delightful, nothing was too much trouble at all. They were so helpful. You can pay in advance online too. They respond quickly to email enquiries and are just lovely to deal,with. The room- I was staying in a double room to the side of the house. It was super quiet and although it wasn't huge (what do you need a huuuuge room for anyway you only sleep,in it) it was just lovely, newly decorated and furnished with a flat screen telly that has access to sky movies!! As well as lots of other channels. The en suite was clean and the shower didn't overflow when I used it. The water flow wasn't amazing but it still did the job. There were little shampoos and shower gels which were a godsend as I'd forgotten mine. You get complimentary water and borders biscuits in your room as we'll as the usual tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. oh and the hair dryer was a proper one, I didn't have to hold a button to keep it on. The breakfast (the important bit) - I often avoid eggs unless I know they are free range, these were from a local farm and cooked how I wanted. The sausages are from a local butcher and were delicious. The dining room has an almost cafe like vibe to it. Neutrally decorated with the breakfast menu on a big blackboard on the wall and you can choose what you like. It was inexpensive but the location was great and served our needs perfectly for a quick night. The room was quite large, with snacks and bottled water included. The window was a little funky as was opaque, but we got some ambient light. Be aware there is no elevator, but we literally only had backpacks, so it was fine for us. Desk service was very good. He clearly explained things to us, polite and friendly. Overall, this was a clean, very serviceable budget hotel with a great location. They apparently have a deal with a nearby restaurant for a discount on their buffet, but we didn't partake.

Anyway, it's a decent room that is clean. The breakfast is included in the morning from 7-9:30am. The front door is manned 24/7 and there is no air conditioning, which isn't the best for summer months. There is a fan however. Overall, a 3 Star accommodation. Nothing special and if ever again in Oxford, we'd just book farther in advance to get a place closer to town. This place is a nice 15 min walk from the city center.

We went to the No1 restaurant for dinner as per Elizabetta's suggestion and recieved complementary aperitifs from the Tower House before an amazing meal. Breakfast was also included the next morning and the eggs benedict had a perfect sauce, not too heavy. We would definitely return.
