We began with some beginners lessons on Saturday mornings. You sign up through the website. Usually…read morethe day before is a great time to sign up. The facility is located in the old Burlington Coat Factory, and there's lots of wide open space with clearly marked zones to keep folks safe. Dogs on leashes are allowed to accompany you inside, and you're welcome to bring your own folding chair. Several different ranges with targets at multiple distances. There's a practice range for beginners at a 9m distance, and you borrow the club's equipment. There are several coaches on hand, an excellent ratio actually of about 1 to 3 or four, to help you learn proper technique and maintain safety. While they have fun at this place, it's very clear that they want everyone to be safe and learn the right way to shoot a bow and arrow. You can also sign up for an individual membership or a family membership. Those are $50 and $100 accordingly. We went on two consecutive Saturday mornings at 8:30 and had such a great time with excellent coaching. We definitely got better over those two times. We decided it was now time to join with a family membership. You can earn badges once you become a member through the US archery Association and you're also eligible for discounts on equipment when purchased through the club. It's important to note that this is a nonprofit. All the coaches volunteer as do the managers who run the place. That says a lot about their dedication and commitment to the sport. There are range of times during the week and weekends that you can sign up as a member for open shoots and they also sponsor their own tournaments. Open shoots are set for Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Earning badges is usually set for Saturday afternoons. All of the coaches we encountered were super friendly and very thoughtful and providing feedback on technique for each individual. I saw a lot of families there shooting together, as I did with my son however there were also many individuals there. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Crooked creek is a wonderful place. You do need to become a member, but once you are there are a…read morewide range of things to do. Activities available are: rifle ranges (100 and 200/300 yards), two 30 yard pistol ranges, trap and skeet ranges, 5-Stand, dog training/Field Trials, archery range, picnic pavilion, camping, fishing, hunting, education and conservation. Sunday are the shotgun games and are open to anyone so if you want to see the club come on out some Sunday between 10am and 4pm. I looked at a lot of different sportsmen association before joining here and I'm glad I went with Crooked Creek. It's not so huge that you wont know people but at the same time it's not so huge that it's super crowded. A lot of the time I have the pistol or rifle range to myself which is nice for getting some practice in. My wife does dog training/field trials and the other dog people out there have been super helpful. They have sanctioned CMP competitions which are a lot of fun along with a lot of other shooting sports competitions. My kids love coming here and fishing and playing on the little playground. I would highly recommend Crooked Creek to anyone looking for a place for some outdoor activities.

Even ranges, both with normal targets and high tech electronic hunting simulator. Last year I bought my first compound bow. I used to shoot and wanted to get back in. The woman I spoke to took her time and eventually gave me a few options, toward the low end of the price range. No push to "buy right now" - rather "take your time - it's a big decision." I did a ton of research, both before and after I visited. The choices she gave me were EXACTLY right. The best available for the price. There's no junk in this shop; the cheapest option was still a good bow. The one I bought, for a little more, is one that every reviewer simply goes nuts for. "Amazing bow for the money." So I picked my options, and a week later it was in. Over the next few weeks I was in a few times for minor adjustments. They remembered me (not like the big stores) and spent whatever time we needed to get it right. No "price list" for tech support. They just want you to be happy. And I am. What a bow!' And, what a store. It's nice to know some people still care about doing a great job!
