I immediately got my family out, but shockingly, they continued children's swimming lessons in that same pool, exposing everyone to potential infections and harmful bacteria like E. coli. I was very surprised, as the staff usually reacts strongly to smaller issues. For example, when I first signed up, one of the female staff members, a very thin brunette, aggressively and disrespectfully yelled at my family and another woman with her daughter over a simple mistake--we brought a floaty, unaware it wasn't allowed. We aren't allowed to use noodles or dive with goggles unless we're paying for swimming lessons. How does that make sense? While some staff members are nice, others act like we're uninvited, unwelcome guests in their house, enforcing unnecessary and unreasonable rules in a rude and bossy manner. This is the first pool I've ever been to where noodles are banned, but apparently, swimming with dead birds is okay. I gave 2 stars because the pool is really beautiful and the water is often warm and pleasant. Too bad for everything else.

Up to three guests can be brought as long as a resident over 18 is present. Residents 14 or older can go to the pool unattended. Adult swim (18+) takes place during the last 15 minutes of each hour. The kiddie pool is a small size but good for kids not ready for 3ft depth. The "rec center" is not a rec center in any way. It is purely a place to take shelter from hot sun or rain and it has small restrooms, picnic tables, and two vending machines. So, don't expect any workout equipment, etc. This is a really cool place to justify the association dues and have fun!

They are strict on their safety rules, which is wonderful. They have a playground, which my son loved for break times (:45 - :00). Why only four stars? As much as we loved it, it became crowded with day cares/camp kids who weren't monitored very well. Although kids are kids, and it's hard as a supervisor to keep an eye on all at the same time, these kids were a bit rude. Before they had come, we had a blast. Will definitely come again.

Then my husband joined us one afternoon and shortly after our arrival, the pool was vacated for "sanitary reasons". (My kids said it smelled like poop down by the water from the time we'd arrived. But they went in anyway - Ew!) We watched the lifeguards scoop something out of the water, put it into a hazardous waste bag, and then add some chemicals to the pool. We left. Nearly six weeks later, we gave it another try on a really hot day. My daughter got stung by a bee in the clover-filled lawn, and I kid you not, the pool was vacated again for the same reason! Don't these people know there are bathrooms provided?! SO gross! We didn't get our money's worth on the passes, but on the way home, we all agreed to never go to Ledge Pool again!

I remember texting my friend Vlad because I was so excited to use the sauna at the Strongsville Rec. Center. He said that I probably would find Russian men in the sauna which I did, 2 of them (apparently Russians love saunas which is cool...haha). I am writing this review a year later, in Feb. 2025. A day pass cost me about $10, if I can remember correctly. I like that this option exists because I don't have to join as a member to use the gym and sauna. GYM/POOL/SAUNA -- At the upstairs gym, I used the stair master and walking track. I also noticed that they have a weights room downstairs but I didn't use it because I didn't have a lot of time. I then used the sauna and steam room downstairs. I stayed in the sauna for about 10 mins and I stayed in the steam room for about 5 mins. The sauna is very small but manageable. There were 3 men in there when I entered. I appreciate that there is a camera inside incase of any emergencies. The steam room is a bit bigger which felt nice. It feels good to be spaced out between people. TIPS -- I recommend bringing a towel to sit on while you're in the Sauna and Steam room. Bring a water bottle too. Also, bring a padlock and key to lock your bag and clothes in the changing room (locker room). I didn't bring a lock because I didn't realize that I would need one so I carried my wallet with me while I used the gym and sauna. Now that it is winter as I'm writing this review, I want to return to the sauna and steam room. The whole gym and pool/sauna area gets very crowded so I recommend that you arrive early. This area is gated, which we loved so there was only one way to get in and out. There are some days where this place gets so crowded that there is no seating available. I would definitely plan ahead for these types of days and bring extra towels to lay on the ground. Parking can sometimes be limited too since the playground is next to the splash pad. There are side streets within the area for extra parking if need be.
