How did we not know this was a quick walk from the Third Ward? I was craving wine after a long day…read moreand I put wine bar into Yelp and Indulge popped up! Indulge is located on Milwaukee Street if I were the owners I would consider into putting up different signage or a new storefront because it is easy to miss and that is a shame. I will be honest, I love wine but I am not that educated about different regions or grapes. Our server was very knowledgeable, telling us about the areas and what that brought to each wine we tried in our flight. The flights were 15.00; I am not sure if that is every Thursday evening or just last night, but it was a great way to sample their wines. The cheese board list was very extensive and again our server was very knowledgeable about explaining and describing the cheese. We chose the Alpine, and Asiago, and Parmesan. All of the cheeses were delicious and perfect compliments to our wine selection. We also tried the olive medley and meat board......perfection. They did have chocolates for dessert but we were stuffed. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 is it took a long time to get our wine and cheese. We were the only patrons (which is a shame because the place really is special). Our server was training another server and I think that is what was taking so long. It was a delightful way to spend an evening but that is the only thing I would say needs improvement. Again with all of the people who are living downtown or visiting the downtown area, it would be beneficial to change up the storefront so people know it is there. We will definitely be stopping in more!

The venue is a beautiful open space, with high ceiling and a bar area. You can set up a dance floor, buffet, and tables to your liking, but the space is quite large, so plenty of room for your inspirations. Bathrooms are specking clean, totally classy. There are 2 waiting/powder rooms, beautiful and decked out with mirrors and chairs. The high ceilings create beautiful acoustics with the band playing. Just charming. Lighting is warm and bright, inviting but not glaring. You could dress the place up or down to your liking, and there are lots that your imagination would love to play with here. I didn't check on the price for renting the space, but I'm sure they are pretty reasonable.

You MUST do the grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters, they were a hit! Chicken en croute is also a must for the main dish. We are still dreaming of that meal. Our guests complimented the food all night and for weeks after the wedding. Somehow it was even better than the original tasting. Candy was our lead from Chef Jack's, and she was incredible, coming out often to check on us and the flow of the room overall. They were incredibly accommodating to any and all allergies and dietary restrictions that we had with our guests, and not a single person was unable to be fed, and for two of my guests who had been to weddings where they were unable to eat, this was important to me. I would recommend Chef Jack's over and over again!

They even cleaned up the counters (wiped down) before I could at the end of the night! I love that I can truly trust them to come in and get the job done and don't have to feel the need to assist throughout - they make my job so much easier! Attendees rave about the food the whole time! Plus since we've used them a few times they've worked to make sure we've included a few favorites but otherwise have made no repeats on menus if crowds are going to be similar. 10/10 recommend yet again.

What a gorgeous place for a wedding! I know this building probably has super rich history but I…read moredidn't really get too much info on that. All I know is that one of my dearest, best friends from FL got married here and I was honored to be part of the ceremony and celebration! When we went in for the rehearsal my first thought was man, I shoulda brought my wedding shoes to practice up and down the stairs. Well, for all my nerves and lack-o-balance, surprisingly it was fine on the wedding day. I really liked the center stairs leading to the stage and in the back of the room was a gorgeous balcony! It's so hard to picture the actual thing when it's just rehearsal but I felt as though it didn't need much visualization. Behind the stage area was 4 small dressing rooms which was perfect for us to get ready, into dresses and final touches (we had already done all our hair and makeup at home) There is also toilets in the little rooms which was SUPER. My friend's grand entrance was from the upper balcony (where there really is no hiding space) and the rest of us were walking from the side stairs going down to the first level (where the cocktail hour would be) Right after the ceremony, we did group photos while the staff transformed the room from service to party. They did a wonderful job and very efficient to make sure that everything was set and ready to go. This is such a beautiful place for a party (cocktail hour downstairs with the sitting space in front of the 2 fireplaces was also excellent) I really couldn't imagine a better place to have an indoor wedding. VERY intimate yet with enough space to spread out. Staff was amazing. It was a perfect venue for the perfect day. 31day Yelp Challenge 7/31

How do you find the perfect wedding venue?? Well - we stumbled upon the Renaissance Place. And they were one of the more expensive venues. However, they weren't a hotel (which was important for me), and the building's character was just breathtaking. After visiting 100 more options, we decided, this will have to do. Then we met Mike. And from there, our wedding just soared!! He was so helpful in explaining the different ways to utilize the venue, helped me understand how my guests would be accommodated throughout the day and assisted me with any questions or concerns that came up during the planning process. He was extremely responsive and made me feel like I was the only wedding he had this summer (which I knew was far from the truth) Come the day of the wedding, I was completely comfortable handing him all the details and logistics ... and then I could focus on me and my husband. We had A BLAST!! Every one of my guests commented on how much they just loved the venue, how the staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to make each person feel important. Our day was absolutely perfect. And I can't imagine how I could have enjoyed it if it weren't for Mike and the Renaissance Place. We are forever thankful for the memories that will last us a lifetime!!
