Although he reportedly did satisfactory work for our interior designer (Zwada Home) previously, his work was atrocious. I have yelped for years and rarely give a one star review. He now lives in Langley, BC and does not have a storefront, so his work is primarily done as a subcontractor. Run as fast as you can if your contractor is using him. So many issues. It was so bad that we left parts of the house with deficiencies as he was clearly incapable of fixing them. Here is a summary of issues (general and paint specific): - Left lights on after finishing for the day even when told about concerns about energy efficiency - Parked in our parking spot without permission - Inadequate taping - drips over doorknobs, on bathroom hardware, and cross over of paint (glossy trim onto eggshell wall) and of colours (cream onto red). - Disorganized painting - he left over half of the baseboards unpainted - we had to literally check every wall and baseboard to make sure they were done. Our upstairs ceilings were two different colours. Our theory is that he is incredibly disorganized or was trying to pocket more cash. We already had white walls and were changing the shade of white and the trim to another shade from Benjamin Moore. We could easily see areas that were not done and I suspect he was trying to cut corners by not doing it and to see if he could get away with it since it was already white. - Laundry room wall is still only half painted - Did not paint undersides of any trim until prompted - He still has left the tops of the door trims unpainted so bare wood is visible - Paints over damaged areas without repair or replacement (e.g. crack in baseboard) His work was awful. I wish we had selected our own painter rather than using this one from our interior designer and contractor. If he is suggested as your painter, do not use him even if he comes in cheaper. You will regret it.

I highly recommend that the project estimate be detailed, precise and descriptive in order to avoid issues downstream - Demand a very detailed statement of work including illustrations and photographs if possible. Demand full visibility of parts and consumables. Contractor may not be comfortable with electrical tasks and may demand that a third party electrician be involved. This may present added cost and unexpected expenses. In summary, very good and recommended contractor provided a good and strict project planning process be followed together with reasonable amount of scrutiny towards estimates and statement of work (clarity).

Torin was amazing when he came to inspect the unit. The company ended up ordering us a whole new unit and installed without any cost on us.
