Having read all the good reviews we booked fairly early (7pm) on as Saturday night. We were the…read morefirst customers, so expected a fast and efficient service. The welcome was certainly friendly and efficient and we were quickly seated in the largest dining room with roof lights, interesting wall paintings and pictures. The menu (which has changed from the one on the web site) is quite extensive. We chose a mixed starter for two (£11.95), a large plate of fried onions and bell peppers (capsicum) with two each of: Onion Bhajee, chicken on the bone, chicken and lamb tikka, Sheek kebab. This was pretty good, but on the whole rather greasy especially the onions and peppers and the Onion Bhajee, and some of the elements too mildly spiced. We followed this by two lamb curries (around £9.00 each), one medium spiced and one Madras hot, with Garlic Naan Bread (£2.45) and Bombay Alloo potato side dish (£3.45). Unfortunately the medium dish was much too cool so we had to send it back to be re-heated, this proved to be difficult as the restaurant had started to become busier and the service seemed to be struggling. Overall the food was pretty good, but not special. My Madras hot dish was quite spicy, but temperatures always vary as you travel across the country. On our single experience I'd rate both the service and food as variable between 2 and 4 stars. Given everybody else's comments, we'll probably have to give it another go sometime and hope for the best. The pricing would be pretty good, if the food and service were up to scratch. The location is in the middle of town with no private car park, but there is a reasonable amount of parking on a side road almost opposite.

Went to the Mysore when a friend was visiting England and wanted to go for a curry. There was a…read morelarge party (15) and they took us with no booking, that has got to be a plus! The food was really nice and more traditional than a normal curry house. As other curry houses have there was lots of choice for veggies. Mmmm making me feel hungry thinking about it. the restaurant is quite small and they were not too keen on the buggy being up in there but the baby of the party was asleep in it so folding it was not an option. The service was good and the food was a decent price. I would go again, as the food was so delicious. Parking is limited if you want to park close by and there is one disabled space, although there is a car park across the road a short walk away.
