My table within the bookstore section. Love sitting near books and reading one while sipping a Coke.

I love the concept of this place. Since my home had extensive flood damage, I was asked to move out for five days to remove flooring. As I missed having a home to sit in and finish reading "One Hundred Years of Solitude"; I came here bc I truly wanted to read this in the company of other people as I was feeling sad from being displaced from my home. Despite the title of the book that suggests solitude... It was very nice being here and I love the atmosphere. A happy customer! Four stars for: - Having a bar, cafe and food all in one. Efficient self service. Service is really helpful and super. They even offered to wrap up the remaining of my Gehackets dinner (nicely served w a sweet apple sauce and parmesan cheese on the side), bc the server was so concerned with food waste. - Seating upstairs that allows you to look at the Industrial neighborhood and directly at the Puls5 building (if you like Matrix views then this is your gig, otherwise you may find views, uninspiring) - Seating also available on the lower level within the small "bookstore" area. I sat here bc I wanted to be in the comfort of feeling like I was sitting at home next to my bookshelf. Near books, to have the atmosphere of living and breathing literature near me without the stuffiness of a library that does not allow drinks and food. I brought my own book to read of course. Looks like most of the books are in German. Natürlich. - Cozy environment. - Excellent (lengthy) hours of business. I took one star off, and it's not at the fault of this place... But some people come here to have intensive catch ups, so it's difficult to read and concentrate when people are non stop blabbing out loud right next to you while you have a book as if they haven't seen each other in a million years... So hence I decided to write this review since I couldn't read yet! :-) So despite the bookstore, come here to read at your own risk, maybe bring lighter reading material than books from Gabriel García Márquez... Perhaps a Fitness or Cosmopolitan just might do it!

Whenever I've been depressed or sad or mad I go here and all those stupid feelings go away. And…read morethen I'm just happy. It's just a regular book store, but something about Orell Fussli is special. Maybe because the books are in German, and it's multiple stories and fun to ride the elevator. Maybe it's because there are nice couches around to sit and read the books, or maybe because there's a Starbucks too so you can have a coffee while you're enjoying your book. I don't know, but I love it. When things were a bit rough a month ago I'd just come here, and everything bad would go away. Orell Fussli is the perfect medicine. :) It's also right in the middle of Zurich. If you're wanting an English book store there's another Orell Fussli English down the street. But I'm so over English books, those were so yesterday. just kidding I've bought a few things from here. The Lion King DVD in German, a German cook book, a calendar, and a few cards. It's really a lovely store. :D

I really like Orell Füssli. It is the biggest store they have @St. Annahof. A really good selection…read moreof books and good personal are working there which could give you good advise. Especially for christmas gifs or just for a gift during year I like to check out this place from time to time and to spend some time in this really great store. Check it out...
