I have insecurities, like everyone. I went into this feeling underprepared about my outfits and everything. I don't wear lingerie or sexy stuff, so I bought new items. The studio and staff vibe is so welcoming and down to earth. My makeup was perfect - I felt like me, not overdone, and very subtle, which is true to me. I was soo comfortable with Kyra, my photographer, and she was so effortlessly encouraging and made me forget my flaws the whole session. I had a blast and it was a very powerful feminine experience to be photographed by such a beautiful, authentic soul. Seeing my photos on screen afterward was also very relevant to my goals for this experience. I had to face my flaws on a tv with another person present, metabolize those flaws/images, while also accepting them and simultaneously transforming them into something i can still love, embrace and not feel so insecure about. This experience achieved exactly what I wanted to. It was pricey and I spent more than I intended, but it felt undeniably worth the cost and I know I will agree with that sentiment more every passing year. I highly recommend this, and I hope every woman finds the same spirituality and empowerment in it that I did.

I want to share my experience with Brea Oakes Photography because I wish I had understood the full…read morebooking process before moving forward. I initially connected with the company after being selected through one of their women's empowerment promotions/giveaways. I was genuinely excited about the experience and loved the idea behind it. Unfortunately, the booking process left me feeling very differently. My scheduled consultation started approximately 15 minutes late. During the call, pricing was discussed and I was asked for a $250 booking deposit, which I paid over the phone. The deposit was non-refundable and was collected during that conversation, BEFORE I was ever sent the contract to review or sign. What I found particularly odd was that my appointment date was not considered officially secured until I signed the contract--yet they had no issue collecting and retaining my non-refundable $250 before I had received that same contract. Personally, I would expect to review and agree to a contract before a business collects a non-refundable payment associated with it. I also think anyone entering one of these promotions should understand the financial commitment involved. What initially felt like being "selected" for an empowerment photography experience ultimately led to a sales conversation for a luxury photography experience with a substantial additional investment of $1500 MINIMUM. After I decided I was uncomfortable moving forward and requested to cancel, the company declined to refund my $250. To be fair, after I challenged the charge, the company provided portions of the phone transcript showing that the representative did verbally state that the $250 would be collected during the call and was non-refundable. I said "okay" and provided my card, so I accept responsibility for not stopping and asking to see the contract first. However, just because I technically agreed to it does not mean I think it is a good or consumer-friendly business practice.

The DJ came up and introduced his self to me, offered me a schedule of the night's events so I knew where to be and when. This was incredibly helpful to know where to set up my gear and everything. He was a very nice gentleman and was very passionate about his work. He stayed longer than the time he had scheduled, did a great job of hyping the crowd and had an excellent selection of music. He was also very accepting of the fact that the couple showed up late and that everything was susceptible to change, he did not get frustrated or let it bother him. I would recommend Pro DJ's 10 out of 10. Excellent service they provided.

She knew some great places for backgrounds that turned out beautiful. She was really laid back and gave some suggestions, but also let us be us. My dog was acting up that afternoon and wouldn't sit still for a minute - I am impressed that she captured so many good moments with him. He was more interested in chasing ducks than posing for a picture. For that matter, my husband was acting up too, but she was able to get so many wonderful pictures of us. When I saw the pictures I was amazed. They are so beautiful and artistic. I can't believe it is us! I loved how she took ones from different perspectives. I also loved the editing - she showed us some pics in color, b&w, and sepia. I HIGHLY recommend K Redmond Photography. I am going to cherish these pictures for a lifetime.

Let me say, what a disappointment in service and value. What I expected to see when I went to funeral was NOT what was there. I paid $260 cash and I saw this 18" inch wreath of daisies- could not see any greenery. I called immediately after funeral with my concerns and was told that I would receive a call back to discuss. I did NOT get a call back, and while i did reached back out to shop (co-owner) and reiterated my disappointment; she explained to me that they thought in their opinion "it was beautiful" in her opinion, and explained they also put an addition ($50) into the wreath described above. NO WAY!! PLEASE, BUYERS-BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Westbound between Detroit and Kalamazoo, this rest area is clean, peaceful, offers an easy lane for slowing down off the highway and enough room to get back onto the highway with good visibility. The building is the same as other MDOT rest areas I've seen with bathrooms, vending machines, a map of the local area, picnic tables, a dog walking area and some shady spots (depending on the angle of the Sun) for a brief snooze. Not too many spots for semis and RVs, but there is some room. I imagine it gets quite busy in the evenings and overnights. It is only patrolled by state police as they pass by on the highway, so be aware of your surroundings and strangers who might approach. [Review 11079 overall, 852 of 2019.]
