This particular location is located in Jeannette, and it is open 24 hours per day. My husband and I needed to fill up the gas tank in our SUV with premium gasoline. A pump was available for our use, so we did not have to wait in a line of vehicles. The price of $4.999 per gallon was comparable to what other gas stations charge, and we experienced no waits or malfunctioning with the pump. Note: If you are a member of Giant Eagle's rewards program, then you can earn Perks here and later redeem them for discounts on gas and groceries. We did not use the convenience store or the GetGo Cafe, so I cannot comment on them.

To note it is at a very busy intersection on Route 30 in Jeannette. This sits between two red light intersections, on a busy day this can be quite a chore to get in and out of. With it being brand new the location has all the bells and whistles. The gas island is set off to one side of the lot making it fairly easy if you are just getting gas. There is also a free air spot for your tires. The store portion is pretty great. It has that industrial feel. It has all that you would expect to find when it comes to convenience. This location also has a fairly extensive selection of beer and wine. The hot prepared food section is rather nice looking. I cannot speak to the speed or quality of the food as I was just looking for a quick drink after fueling up my vehicle. One added bonus at this location is kind of hidden. Prior to this being a GetGo a PNC Bank sat at the location. PNC didn't completely go away. In the back right corner there sits a drive up ATM, brought to you by no other than PNC.

Yeah, bulk purchases mean more planning and sometimes you don't 100 bags of the same thing over and over. But I love Sam's more for the extra things on top of just the bulk food. They have the absolute cheapest packaging supplies (I do a lot of shipping so cheap bubble wrap and tape SPEAK to me) The food samples are just nostalgic youth moments and still fun to grab multiple... PS the workers don't care. The faster it goes, the quicker they can go in the back. The scan and go changed the game. No more waiting in lines and no more wondering if you over spent as you wheel your big cart to the front. Simple integration in their app and simple to use. I wish more stores could get on board. Plus... now the automatic exit scanners mean no more employee fumbling through your cart to scan the required number of items. Sam's knows what we need and they implement it.

The bakery is five star. Lots of delicious treats and they are fresh baked. When you go in in the morning, it has a delightful smell of fresh baked bread! Produce is almost always actually fresh, but make sure you check, especially things like strawberries. Staff is friendly and will help you look for things and answer questions. The one down side is that sometimes some of the cashiers are chatty which can slow things down. It is great to be personable, but sometimes you want to get through a line quickly because you are on the way to someplace else. The deli has a nice selection of meats and prepared foods (like pasta salad and potato salad) and the staff their is friendly and informative. Overall, the store is clean and overall well maintained. The biggest negative is that you really need to check expiration dates. They often still have stuff on their shelves that has expired.

But not many stores put all of the employee responsibilities on the customer. Want a cart? Great put a down payment and bring the cart back to the store to get it back Want an item? Here - we just put out the bulk packaging and pallets. You can get it out. Aisles look like someone ripped into Sam's Club items - oh wait... that's intentional. Want your items bagged? No worries. We have tables for you to do it yourself after we scan things - or you guessed it - you can scan them. Aldi is genius! Lower price because they don't have to hire as many employees... and people love it. It is so successful that other industries and concepts should take note. Imagine a Chipotle where you can make your own burrito, you can bag it, and they would just weigh it. C'mon!! Monroeville Aldi is well done though! Private huge lot. Always have the latest drops (including the Disney stuff this month). Somehow it stays pretty clean too.
