I figured I'd check out the cafe at Speedway since I had a coupon. I have never eaten hot food from a gas station but this seemed fresh, so I decided to give it a try. You order from a kiosk, get a ticket, take the ticket to the register to pay (and get it stamped), then your order number will be called when it's ready. Their pizza is definitely better than a hot n ready! The store wasn't that dirty before the remodel but since the remodel it looks great! Very impressive. All employees were nice and helpful. I also strongly suggest you try the F'real milkshake machine. Yummmm! And I remember when they were remodeling and I wondered who would use the outdoor patio... until my family walked to speedway over the summer for speedy freezes and sat out on the patio to enjoy them! (Although our time was cut short due to an employee's smoke break but that's not a representation of the business, just personal preference for not wanting to be around smoke) read more

Worse gas station I've been to in years. Why? They do no maintain anything. Never any water in washer fluid in the Sacul buckets, gas pump receipt, paper, empty and the bathrooms are cleaned half assed. Besides workers showing up to collect , does anyone do actual work? Terrible management. Rude employees. The general manager is rude,does nothing but talk on her phone and bad mouth costumers and employees. Store is dirty. Fruit flies are everywhere! In the donut case,pop machine and in the tea. Food gets left in the warmer all night long. read more

Look, short and sweet... the people in the store are awesome! Really nice and helpful... but man... do not go here if you're in a hurry or are already pissed off... I have one pump that I go to that works, other than that, if I switch I ALWAYS have trouble. It keeps shutting off over and over. read more

Speedway is always the best. Always fresh coffee, decent hot food, GREAT hot food if you consider the fact it's a gas station lol. Staff is always crazy friendly and happy at this location. (Most locations I've been frankly). I suggest trying the new espresso blend coffee they are carrying now. Packs a nice punch. I mix it with one of the "machine coffees" (like French vanilla or English toffee) only needs like one creamer then and it's perfect. It's no starbucks, but if you ask me, that's a good thing. I like sbux too but Speedway Cafe gives them a run for their money with the nice coffee and creamer selection and the prices. The place is always clean and/or being cleaned too. They also have staff that is strictly for cleaning, cooking, and restocking so the counter/cashier line never suffers. A++ read more

This station is the least expensive gas in Oakland county. I might add they are the busiest, lines are often long, especially at rush hour. The inside attendants are polite and quick to help if pumps are a problem. You'll never have to go in for a receipt because of no paper in the pumps, they are on top of everythig This place keeps things running smooth and effecent. The one way in and out keeps the traffic to the pumps orderly and safe. They have 10 min. Parking in back if you should need milk, pop or any variety of grocery items. read more

Smaller inside than most but plus side they got the key important things Coffee, tornados, and chips. Friendly staff i try to go as late as possible because some times people have a hard time navigating which can be frustrating. For some reason this is one of only two or three gas stations I will go to. I guess because it is close to home and it's in a good spot. Plus the other gas stations in the area are either out of the way, too small, or owned by people I have issues with haha. read more

I stopped in here late on a Monday evening and was treated very prejudice against. I was followed around the store, given a grimacing stare every item I grabbed, and finally at the checkout was accused of stealing my purchase (I.e. Taking it without paying for it.) My Apple Pay checkmark had gone off on my iPhone as I prepared to grab the things and leave the male clerk spoke to me in a very degrading and callous tone by saying "Ma'am I still need the 17.85!" I stated that I would call authorities to handle the matter due to the fact my card had already been charged for a smaller amount which I showed both the male and girl clerk members. Both of which in my opinion handled the situation very inappropriately and then pretended that the behavior shown was acceptable once other customers began to come inside the store and I threatened to call police. Normally I absolutely love this speedway, friendly staff, pretty quick service. Today I'm not as happy. I came to speedway cafe for my lunch break and ordered a veggie sub only. At my work, we clock out for our lunch break and we get penalized if we don't clock in before our 30 minute period is up. I work across the street and go here often so I didn't think it would take that long, since I come here regularly and am used to the time it normally takes. When I went today, I ordered my food, but in line in front of me was a family of 5 who had just ordered a full dinner. I waited 35 minutes from the time I ordered this sub to the time I got it. They have one person working the cafe, an elderly woman, who did an amazing job (truthfully this is not her fault she was a rock star), but was a bit slower since she was new as well. She really did an incredible job especially for the work load she was given. However It just so happens that I'm also in line for a promotion and this penalty on my record makes me less than thrilled and best. Hopefully, it doesn't affect the possibility of my career furthering. None of this is to try to be rude, I understand food/customer service and what it takes sometimes, but pleasssse staff your cafe at 5pm. I will probably be back because I do love it, especially for the price, but if you're looking for honest feedback this is it. You need more people. read more
