We came here with my boyfriend's cousins after experiencing Rocksylania on the AT trail! 10 miles…read moreof brutal walking and my first time in area. It was GREAT! We sat at the bar and they had a really fun classic rock band playing in the main room. The band was called Bittersweet. Food was awesome and the uncorked Pennsylvania Chardonnay was surprisingly good. If I wasn't going home carryon I would have purchased a bottle to take home. I had a wonderful summer salad and we all shared a big pretzel. I have never had mustard that good! Stone ground mustard with horseradish that they make on site. Everyone else also enjoyed their food. 5 stars

My wife and I went for our anniversary. Arrived around 6:30 Pm. We were immediately seated (Was not…read moreoverly full at this point.). We ordered food and drinks moments later. Our Iced tea and soda were brought promptly. Around 7:30 we decided we were not waiting especially after witnessing several parties get their food (some of which were the same menu items we ordered). We contacted the waiter and told him to cancel the order and give us a bill for the tea and soda. He stated he had to get a manager for assistance. He billed us for the tea and soda, which I thought showed a less than stellar amount of business integrity. The waiter then approached us. He stated the food was now ready and could bag it up for take out. We declined at this point. When paying the bill the owner came out and was raising his voice to me and my wife using an "unfriendly" "tough guy tone". No apology for the wait. No taking ownership of mistakes or oversights made. Offered many excuses about how they are so busy in an irritated and disrespectful tone (It wasn't super busy when we arrived and placed our order.) We paid our $6.00 bill and thanked the owner and went on our way. The place was renovated years ago from an old 5&10, I frequented as a kid. It is a lovely looking place. The wait staff we dealt with were friendly and personable. I can not comment on the food, we did not get any. My unsweetened tea was fine and my wife did not seem to disapprove of her soda. Due to the owner's handling of the situation, his lack of integrity and the attitude of your just a customer. I cannot recommend 1787. Please try it out for yourself. Maybe you will have better luck.

Do yourself a favor and stop buying milk from Walmart, and head to Grube's for the best gallon of chocolate milk you will ever drink in your life. Grube's Dairy Farm operates out of Mohrsville, and recently began operating a small country store a couple of years ago, right across the street from the former, water-damaged borough hall in Shoemakersville. Make your way down the little alley next to the white house with the "Grube's Dairy" cow sign, and the parking lot is on your right. Grube's Dairy is the country store that Shoemakersville needs, since the departure of Boyer's left a void in which Shoemakersville residents now had to travel to Hamburg to go grocery shopping. Enter Grube's, the little store that could: offering their incredibly delicious line of LOCAL (I repeat: local) dairy products, delicious PA Dutch Nelson's Ice Cream (Nix Besser!), locally made "Pure Wild Tea", miscellaneous grocery items, and new for 2015: a full deli! If I haven't convinced you yet, I strongly urge anybody who prefers local, quality products and small businesses to check out Grube's Dairy.

They even have ice cream they sell as well as a little deli for meat and such. Everything is reasonably priced and tastes very good. I really like the tea they sell and their chocolate milk the best. My next trip I'm going to get some ice cream from them.
