I started going to this place as a baby pretty much. Spent all Sprintcar rounds at the track, plus we travelled for quite a few of the rounds as well (my dad was quite the enthusiast). It was great fun. I never cared about the noise or the dirt and mud, although sometimes it can hurt a lot when it flies through the air and hits you, we always had safety glasses. But such a fun family event to attend. Once as a kid my dad even entered himself in one of the demolition derby's. Those are so much fun to watch.
Check their web site as they have a lot of special events and different nights have different features. It's quite a drive out there and best to leave early to get there and get parking and a good position to sit and watch for the night. Gates open at 4pm and racing starts at 6pm. When it finishes it can be bedlam trying to get out of the car park in the crowd but just be patient. Once you get out the gate it's all good.
It's not a cheap night out by any stretch of the imagination. A family entry is $70, kids under 4 yrs are free, kids 4 to 12 yrs are $10, teens 13 to 15 yrs are $20, pensioners and students $25 and adults are $30. Plus then all the food or drink you may require (no bottles allowed inside) or cash spent at the bar, it adds up to a costly night out. Plus the cost of petrol to get there because it is so far out. However it is still worth it, just not something we do every race. We do however try and go here at least once a year and usually a little more often to Murray Bridge.

Their season usually goes from about October to April each year so make sure you check it out before you go. For example in February they have a Ramp Jump Competition as well as the usual racing one night. In both March and April on different evenings they have a burn out competition happening if that is more your thing. And the best family night of the season - The Easter Thrillerama on Sunday 8th April, 2012. Not only will they have sprintcars, wingless prints and super sedans but they are also holding the caravan and dunny derby AND monster fireworks display. read more
