Questionable billing practices deceptive advertising and upselling you service which is not needed

I would like to start by saying Thank you Spectrum for sending me a $40 a month coupon for two years after canceling your service a week ago to switch to Go Net speed. In 30 years with this company and paying $90 a month for the last 2 years I have never been offered a deal. After speaking with your customer service several times in regards to the compromised service I continually had, I was never once offered a reduced rate or deduction in my monthly payment. Now that you finally have competition, which I have gone with as of last week, you now send me this information for a lesser rate. As a consumer, it's insulting to know that I was treated this way and received this information after several attempts to remedy your faults with our systems. Iif anyone reading this review has any option to leave spectrum and go with another company I encourage you to do it . My decision has proved extremely successful in the streaming of Internet to my home services. #gonetspeed read more

Well it's been nearly 2 years my internet has ran kind of spotty not even near the speeds they promised I have had to go to the office 50+ times they tell me that they are working on it. But when is my question? I want speeds like I had in va not slow wifi speeds I can't even get on the guest networks they have even during covid. WARNING! Do NOT buy spectrum mobile!! They're purposefully slowing their mobile speeds PARTICULARLY for CALLING!! I had verizon and now I get 3 less bars of service in the SAME PLACES I ALWAYS GO!!! Spectrum/charter is a horrible company & doesn't take any ownership of their mistakes whatsoever. They installed the wrong size line on my house years ago & after numerous visits & inconveniences replacing modems & routers, they finally sent a good tech that properly diagnosed my issue which they created & don't want to make things right. They are a little cheaper than some other options but I wouldn't refer this company to an enemy. They have the monopoly on internet but I wouldn't use any of their other services. The employees are nice, but at the top, they're all scumbags & do not take care of their customers, they're greedy! Since I started with Spectrum, back when it was Time Warner, my bills keep going up. I am now paying $80+ for standard internet alone. I keep explaining myself and telling them that I am an old and disabled woman who has not been able to work for years due to my disability and that having a $80+bill is forcing me to either disconnect from the outside world and entertainment or not pay some other bill and they refuse to lower my bill. My daughter pays less than I do and they said it must be a promotion she has. She has been with them longer than me, so what promotion does she have and why can't you give me the same? I can not believe that rhey refuse to lower my bill even by a little. And we in Utica have 2 options, them or Verizon. Monopolize that, why don't you. read more

From 2/23/15 Due to an unhelpful customer service rep I had to come in to return box and modem because the rep claimed I could not my mother-in-law drop it off for me. I get here, and the employee at the Time Warner was super great, she help take some of the edge off from that incompetent CSR. She also informed me that anyone can drop the box off just not pick it up which would have been helpful considering I had a cross country move the next day could have just had the in-law drop it off read more

God-awful provider. They shouldn't even call themselves "providers". My local news channel works all day, until the news comes on. Then it's unavailable (but you can live stream it!). It's the only channel, the only 1/2 hour of the day it doesn't work. WHEN THE NEWS IS ON! Internet works sometimes, it took awhile to get on to type this review. But for the most part it doesn't work at all, yet wifi is fine, signal strength is fine, etc. Even pinging their server doesn't work. When you try to contact them, "ask spectrum" doesn't work. If you call by phone and the rest of the county is on hold in front of you, you can't get them to call you back-because it asks you to press "1".....which they can't receive! All of these problems with them is an ongoing thing, not something that popped up today. It's a damm shame that they're the only provider in the area. Something should be done at the political level. Enough people echo my sentiments to warrant a class action suit or something. It's enough to make you not want to move to an area they monopolize, just because you have to deal with THEM **NO STARS. Absolutely HORRIBLE wait time. Prepare to bring a bagged lunch and coffee while you wait in line to talk to one person... two people sit at th counter of 4 terminals.. one actually takes customers. I'm paying way to much money to stand in like for an hour and a half-two hours to switch out my box. This company is despicable. I asked for my seasonal service to be turned off on December 3rd. I called October 28 to have it turned off. They did not turn it off and charged me 3 additional months for it...plus, they disconnected the service and are charging me a disconnect fee(or a reconnect fee, whatever). The service is in the Adirondaks where there is no access during the winter months so I'm paying for a service that I'm not receiving. And, when I called the company, I'm talking to a service center in Puarto Rico. Seriously??? They refused to help me by saying that I was supposed to call within 25 days to have the service put on seasonal...Oct. 28 was beyond the 25 days. I had no idea that this was policy but they refused to help me. Now I'm paying a $300 bill for service that I'm not receiving. I've never had any problems with Time Warner before but Spectrum is outrageous. read more

Spectrum cable is awful I moved from Syracuse ny to little falls ny and was told I could get one package for a certain price then they come to hook me up and they tell me I can't get what I was quoted and my bill went up twenty two dollars a month the problem is there the only player in town if I could get direct tv I would. read more
