This place really impressed me. Okay, so having to wait nearly 15 minutes to be called in having arrived for my appointment spot on time wasn't so good, but to be fair the receptionist was profusely apologetic, and the service I received after that more than made up for it. My eye exam was the most thorough I've ever had and the optician was courteous and polite, even though I asked (in hindsight) some really stupid questions! I felt that the price charged for the sight test and contact lens consultation was extremely reasonable, and I came out with lots of free samples of products to try which I have never been offered before. I would thoroughly recommend this opticians and, for the first time ever, am seriously thinking of going back to the same place twice!

Melson Wingate is based at the far end of the high street in town, and they have been my opticians…read moreof choice for years now. They are facing more and more competition locally now more than they ever did. Their shop is very modern and well designed. They have a massive range of glasses for adults but are unfortunately let down by their lack of range for older children. The staff have appeared to be the same for years as well and they are all friendly and will go out of their way to help you when you need things fixing etc. If you're looking for a local optician I could reccomend this one to you.
