This branch of Superdrug is a fairly large store, located in Blackpool centre…read more I called in here while passing through Houndshill Shopping Centre, the store is a decent size and seems to be set out like a typical Superdrug store, perhaps slightly. more modern than my local Middleton store. There was a decent selection of drinks too. The typical Superdrug 2 for £2 offer on which was good, I was able to use my Unidays voucher here as well which gave me a further 10% off which is a cool promoton. The store seemed quite understaffed, there only seemed to be one member of staff working who seemed nice enough Stock of other items was poor / below average. I think this store has done enough to earn at least two stars but sadly it hasn't done enough to earn anything over a high two star rating.

And i felt that the actual eye test was very thorough indeed. The staff are very welcoming and most helpful and I feel there prices are reasonable but lets face you can't put " A price on your sight, can you". And this is why i have given 5 stars as i feel they tick all the right boxes.

The detail and care to attention from my eye test to speaking to Robert and team for the perfect lenses, everything couldn't have been better. They even have all the latest equipment from Zeiss, so measuring your eyes will be truly perfect every time. The choice of frames were beautifully displayed and had an extensive selection in all price ranges. I never felt any pressure to buy, as they truly went above and beyond to help me select the best lenses and frames fitting my face. I'd like to thank everyone at The Spectacle Factory for going the extra mile and making me feel in great hands. And I'll finish by saying, I'm even arranging to visit again for another pair of glasses. Thank you.

They were thoroughly tested too , field vision , that horrible one were they puff air at your eyeball and for an extra £10 you can have an image taken of the back of your eye which shows up any problems- however there was no pressure to have this done. I then saw the optician , a very friendly lady who explained everything she asked or did very clearly and was friendly and polite. She then went through my new prescription explaining any changes and recommending what glasses I would need. Now I have to be honest here I went to Boots as I had a voucher for a free eye test which you just don't waste and thought about just taking the prescription and running but they had some really pretty glasses and a buy one get one free offer on single lens glasses and as I need glasses for reading and long distance for driving that was ideal . What swung the deal was the insurance I am always putting my glasses down and sitting on them or knocking them onto the floor and standing on them but for £20 I could insure them against accidental damage ( scratches, breakages etc) for 12 months- take them in get a new pair -great. So all in all I was very impressed with the staff, the eye test , the range of glasses and the price. Will definitely be going back there for my next eye test.

The staff were thourough and the equipment used was very impressive, after being used to one optician peering in my eyes, i was surprised at the number of tests available. Would certainly go back there again and have booked my next apppointment. One of the added bonuses for me is that it is all on one level, and you get boots points as well.

The examining rooms are fully equipped and the opiticians are friendly and have an old fashioned courtesy about them. Once he had finished, I was shown the waiting area. The waiting area consisted of 4 seats, and a nice selection of Local magazines and the general waiting-room mags. Because I was a tad early I had to wait 5 mins for my appointment, but that is far better than my experiences at other Opticians. My actual eye exam by the optometrist, was thorough and paid careful attention to the exact lens prescription I needed. Checking all my eye-rleated medical history, and discussing my problems etc. Although she was a young optometrist, in my (un-trained) opinion, she was very good. Once I'd completed the eye-exam, I was passed to the original staff member who had greeted me, who then gave me advise on the lens and frames (and their associated costs). I was then aided in choosing a frame that I liked. Although in my case, I preferred to choose alone, and they gave me plenty of time and space. Once I'd chosen my frames, they careful outlined the costs again, and I paid then and there. And I was able to collect my new glasses an hour later. As you may surmise, I was very happy with the whole experience, and I would recommend. Although in hindsight, they may be a little more expensive than other Opticians.
