Specialties

New York's premier provider of premium custom signs, vinyl banners, full color graphics and more. Established in 1971, Specialty Signs produces premium custom designed products and graphics with fast turnaround time and personalized customer service. Whether you are looking for a NY vinyl banner printing service for your sporting event, or need professional assistance with custom signs in NYC for your company, the experts at Specialty Signs are ready to help.

History

Established in 1971.

In 1971, Marc Frankel started a small, part-time sign business in a corner of his father's trucking firm. With some help from his father's business associates, he began manufacturing and selling vacuum-formed magnetic truck signs. He also added a line of "Kitchen Signs" which were magnetic signs personalized with the individual's name, such as "Mary's Kitchen". In 1973, Marc graduated from college and decided to make Specialty Signs a full time entity. He continued making vacuum formed signs, and in 1983, purchased one of the first computerized vinyl letter cutting machines. The new machine's computer automated capabilities really helped the company gain success in the sign industry. In the fall of 1987, Specialty Signs moved from its original storefront location on West 18th Street to its larger current location on West 21st Street.

We just completed another successful project with Specialty Sings. We have worked with Specialty Signs over the course of 18-20 years and find them to be one of the best NYC custom signs companies. Our work with them has included decals, custom copper lettering, window construction decals, stores signs (like the R.M. Williams store in Soho) and most recently a company directory in solid brass. Edna is a delight to work with. She is very responsive and an outstanding communicator. The whole team right down to the installation experts is fast and professional. They are great in finding attractive solutions and very helpful in troubleshooting fabrication obstacles. They are and will remain one of our top vendors. read more
