Specialty Rx Pharmacy is where I booked an appointment for a COVID-19 antigen test. I did a bunch of research beforehand and found this spot.
I booked my appointment online. It was straightforward. I got e-mail reminders two days and a day before my appointment. I got text reminders a day before and two hours before my appointment. I loved all of it.
This pharmacy is located in a fairly new plaza. It has a Chatime, Coffee Culture, and more. My appointment was fairly early, so Chatime was closed. Coffee Culture was pretty busy.
I walked in and spoke to a woman about where I should go for my test. It's actually at the Ellesmere Healthcare Centre, which is next door. Both businesses are seamless when you are inside, but they have two separate entrances.
Weird. It works. It must be a modern design trend. It was a similar setup when I got my second COVID-19 vaccination shot in Brampton.
I went to pay for my test. It's $39, which is actually a loonie cheaper than Shoppers Drug Mart. I have heard horror stories from a few people saying that the report from SDM is a handwritten note. I wanted a report that looked professional and this place stated that it does one.
The payment system at Ellesmere Healthcare Centre was down. The lovely woman who helped me said that the pharmacy would take care of me. The woman behind the pharmacy counter was equally as terrific. She brought the payment machine over to me. She appreciated that I tapped correctly with my debit card. Most people tend to make circles around the machine as if they were conjuring up a spell or a tornado.
She gave the short receipt to the other woman and I got the longer one. I thanked her and waited to get my test done.
I learned a lot. Book through the pharmacy, but go to the clinic side on the right for the antigen test. Everything was seamless and great. I'll be back when I need another antigen test.
