Rude? Rude isn't the word. Moaned as soon as I walked through the door to their "trade" counter. Apparently I was wrong to turn up with a list of items and should have telephoned ahead. But guess what? Their website, at the time of writing - and which I've screen dumped for evidence, states nothing about "not turning up unannounced" rather that "Collections may not be possible at certain times, please ring first if you are travelling any distance". Well, living locally, it wasn't any trouble for me to turn up, but to them....well....it was a heinous crime it seems! A whole load of trouble met with a bunch of sarcasm directed at me for forgetting my crystal ball.
Apparently, or so they told me, "Special Moan Plasters Inc" are an Internet-based company, and they had a big delivery scheduled that moment leaving one to wonder why they have a "trade" counter at all if they can't tolerate individuals turning up at their own convenience. But they are so good at being an Internet-based company that they ignored my email from a previous time and dimension. Great, so rude on the Internet and rude in person.
Other reviewers seem to think this attitude is hilarious and cool. Perhaps to them price is everything. I seem to think that this is a company so arrogant, perhaps because they have enough default institutions and customers to fall back on, that any individual polite, naive and foolish enough to come in with a persona that happens not to fit in with the woman behind the counter, is thus therefore DOOMED.
I walked out, told them what I thought of their "customer service", and I won't be returning. I doubt they'll lose any sleep. But at least i won't be making them any wealthier. read more
