My husband and I have recently encountered some very disturbing circumstances regarding the HVAC system in our apartment. I called the local health department seeking someone to do a air quality check as we were just staying sick and getting worse. She directed me to look on the internet for Quality Air Tests...That is how we found Kevin. Long story short Kevin came to us and tested our apartment, we learned that we had been breathing very toxic mold as a result of poor maintenance not only in the HVAC system but also proving that maintenance had spray painted directly over this toxic mold in the bathroom and closets. We are now out of the environment and undergoing testing as we had actually been inhaling and ingesting these toxins. We are slowly getting better, and we thank the Good Lord for leading us to Quality Air Consultants. Kevin rendered to us the reports necessary to give to our landlord, and doctors proving reason beyond any doubt that our illnesses were directly related to these toxins. We are also going to use these reports during the litigation process and it has been very helpful to our attorney. This was so unnecessary, as if only the responsible maintenance and management persons would have cared to do their job correctly, they would have noticed 35 years of mold growth in the drain tray of our HVAC system. There wasn't even a drain outlet for the water to run off. Hence we discovered a two foot tray by two inches high of Aspergillius Penicillium Cladisporium etc... It was like some sort of gelatinous mess! Now if you are a country music fan then you have heard that sweet song by Alabama; "Angels Among Us" When I think of how Blessed we were to have Kevin go out of his way to do our test at a very affordable rate; I know this song is true. The song says "THEY COME TO YOU AND ME IN OUR DARKEST HOURS, TO SHOW US HOW TO LIVE, TO TEACH US HOW TO GIVE, TO GUIDE US WITH THE LIGHT OF LOVE" " THEY WEAR SO MANY FACES THEY SHOW UP IN THE STRANGEST PLACES ,TO GRACE US WITH THEIR MERCY IN OUR TIME OF NEED" Amen to that, Thank you Kevin Griffis for extending the hand of God's Loving Kindness. We had a rental property that had tenets living in it for a couple years and were never informed that there was an issue in one of the bathrooms. We only found the issue after we were able to regain possession of the property. We called Carolina Mold, and they came out that day to look at the problem. By that evening we had a quote to complete the work. They scheduled the work for three days later and two technicians arrived at the scheduled time. They partitioned off the bathroom and performed remediation on the area. They also scrubbed down the walls and all the carpets on that floor to make sure that all the surrounding rooms had been treated too. That evening, I received an email with a link to all the photos that had been taken for my records; as well as confirmation of payment. Carolina Mold Solutions was responsive, professional, and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone who is having a mold issue.

Being from out of town, I used online reviews and social media to search for a home inspector…read more Walter Henegar is the owner of Playing It Safe Home Inspections and called quickly once I'd clicked on the "request quote" button online. He was very nice and mentioned that he trained most of the home inspectors in the HHI/Bluffton area. He was just relocating from Columbia area to Sun City. I liked the fact that he was using a drone to assist with his inspections. My realtor was not familiar with him and had recommended 3 other inspectors who were familiar with my plantation and the homes there. I was not present for the home inspection, but my realtor was there to attend. His report was written from a standard template in a way that showed what typical procedure is with many disclaimers and limitations of inspection. The report seemed typical of a trainer with limited amounts of detail. The picture of the front of the home which was used as the title page for the report actually included his car parked in the driveway. He did not use the drone for my inspection which I found disappointing. He didn't even go onto the roof or use binoculars for inspection. What he mentioned in the report is that roof leaks can only be detected after prolonged rain. He mentioned the dishwasher needed to be repaired which we learned was in perfect condition and only 3 years old. He never mentioned the age of the hot water heater and used a picture of the entire heater instead of the detailed serial number. He didn't check the smoke alarms but mentioned that they should be changed every 5 years. His report stated my flooring was carpet and vinyl which had me question the home I actually was interested in purchasing. I learned the floors were actually ceramic tile. I don't know if he checked the electrical outlets, but if he did, he didn't catch the fact that 2 of the outlets were not secured into the wall and were loose. His report includes an entire page devoted to Limitation of Liability. Previous home inspections I was involved with had more pictures and detail in areas such as plumbing and electrical. This was a visual inspection only. I guess I wasn't aware there are different types of inspections. He noticed items such as rust on the door thresholds and outdoor light bulbs out. I'm not even sure if he brought a ladder. Not being present, I'm dependent on the inspection report and my realtor's professional comments.

In past couple weeks found defective faucet, cracked window sills, defective fire place deemed as a hazard by fireplace inspection, no GFI in bathroom, 1 faucet not operable, missing shingles, outside lights on decorative pond defective, nail heads on shingles not properly covered with epoxy, master bath shower head not working....many many things overlooked. These issues are costing us over $2500 to address. If properly inspected we could have perhaps negotiated with sellers to help fix before purchased.

No need to bring extras of anything. From toiletries to kitchen essentials - not only is it high quality, it is more than sufficient quantity. We cooked in on four different occasions - and were pleased with the seasonings, cookware and appliances. There is everything needed to start the day with coffee...from a coffee maker as well as a Keurig. There were at least a dozen pods, as well as ground coffee. Plus sweeteners. My friend enjoyed the complimentary (high quality...Kilwins) chocolate caramels and the bottle of wine. I enjoyed having the bikes and the sturdy and comfortable beach chairs. I easily took the less than ten minute bike ride to the beach, with the chair on my back (back pack style). I also enjoyed the less than ten minute walk to the lighthouse area. We brought my friend's two dogs. But, if you are not an animal person, you would never know this is a pet-friendly unit. It is clean and smells fresh. The beds are comfortable, each with their own private bathroom. The deck off the eating area is sheltered from any wind, and most of the sun, and overlooks a pond and the pool area. We are already booked for our trip next Fall. Kudos to Holly for this wonderful unit.
