If they had more beer I'd give them a flat 5/5 I'd say as a liquor store Tom's edges out it's nearby competition "Dusty's Cellar" and draws even with "Vine & Brew". A deli-style display with an assortment of fresh funkadelic pizza and stuffed hot stix greet your immediate left as you enter. I tried a slice of pepperoni and a slice of garlic cheesy bread. Both were excellent, and fresh out of the oven. I grabbed a menu and will definitely be ordering pizza and more in the near future. Menu also includes subs, salads, fried appetizers, chicken, and ribs. The rest of the establishment was your standard convenient-store, along with a large liquor selection and keg service...very impressive. Kudos to the owner for snagging a prime location and turning it into a great addition to an up-and-coming neighborhood. If the EL city government ever gets with the program and redevelops the blight at the Abbot/EGR intersection, this place may need to add a second story.

While the prices can be higher than other party stores in the area, the selection cannot be beat. Ode's Big Ten Party Store has the largest selection of package liquor and beer in the area. With the option of "make your own six pack," there is the ability to try new beers that otherwise I would not have tried. Especially since a full six pack gets 10% off; although, the prices are still a little high. The liquor selection is spectacular. They are usually close to or at floor pricing and the they've only been out of what I've wanted once. Most other stores don't even carry the stuff I want. This in-and-of-itself is the reason I continue to come back to Ode's.
