I happened to park in the back of the store without realizing it so I entered through the back &…read morenot the front. Since I didn't realize it was the back door, I waited back there for 5 minutes for someone to come and greet me. The door chimed when I walked in and the door was unlocked so there was no indication that I was actually walking in the back and not the front. I walked up the middle aisle to see if anyone was there and saw an esthetician lying on the table in a wax room that I passed. I stopped and asked "did I walk in the wrong door?" No response. I kept going until I reached what I realized was the front. I didn't know it at the time, but the woman lying on the table that ignored me previously was to perform my bikini wax. I had to wait another 15 minutes for her to be ready for me. I assume she must have been on a break...which is fine...I have no issues with that. But another esthetician came out while I was waiting and offered to the woman up front to take care of my wax and the woman at the front told her no, that I was waiting for Kayla. Technically I was but I was a new client so I just picked a name when I was booking it online and it would have been nice to be asked "hey do you want to go ahead or would you rather wait". I would have most certainly gone ahead with the woman that was ready for me. Meanwhile, while waiting for Kayla to finish her break, the woman up front had ordered food and proceeded to eat while I was waiting, never having me fill out any sort of paperwork even though I was a newbie to this facility, which she knew because I told her when I checked in. She took a few personal calls as well which was very awkward & well honestly unprofessional. Finally, Kayla was ready...she came to get me and took me back to the room to be waxed. While she was in the room she asked me to disrobe from the waist down, leaving my underwear on. Um WHAT?!? She told me this was standard procedure. Never have I had an esthetician IN the room when I am undressing, nor have I ever had one tell me to leave my undergarments on. Fortunately for me this was my first time at the facility so I ended up getting my wax for free but I would certainly not waste my time going back. I had to stay after mt appointment was over to fill out the paperwork that I should have been filling out while I was waiting. Do yourself a favor & go right across the shopping area to European Wax Center...I have been there since visiting Ultraskin and they are FAR better in all aspects.

While Jasmine is very good at the waxing, she is INCREDIBLE at sugaring. I swear it barely hurt, the result was perfect, and I had basically no irritation or ingrowns after. In addition, Jasmine is super friendly and great at giving you warnings to breathe on the more sensitive areas. I am giving 4 stars because Jasmine set the bar very high and I feel like other waxers I have seen at the North Charleston location haven't quite lived up to her standard. They are going through some management and company changes right now, so scheduling can be a bit wonky (I got three separate calls to confirm my most recent appointment, in addition to a text, but when I arrived I was placed with a different specialist than I had booked with), but everyone there is very friendly and apparently they are going to be offering more med spa services at this location very soon. All in, I just purchased a Pink Pass (10 Brazillian Sugaring at $54/ea), so I will be going back to see Jasmine for a while!

Today I thought I'd try something different. My service was super affordable ( half the price of some other wax spas in the immediate area.) The young lady that assisted me was professional but not overly friendly, she was efficient and knowledgeable and I appreciated that. Overall I saved time and money and I'm pleased. Especially for someone like me who has a very busy work schedule. Now I'm not sure if my third experience was based on the time of day (evenings), but I know part of the issue is covid related. But I want to start it with the positives of this visit. I saw Bray, who is SUPER sweet and very attentive to my needs. She made sure my brows looked AMAZING, and kept my natural shape just cleaned up my bushy mess. She also talks to you during the process so you're never really in easy during the experience. Which of course we talked about threading and Brazilian waxing. She told me it's not so bad depending on who does it, and boy was she was right. The last time i was threaded (which was my first) it was super uncomfortable, but she actually made it relaxing. Now for the downfalls. I'm not sure if part of it was because the person I was scheduled with went home early or she "had a cancellation" (since they called at 5pm asking me if I could come in early). But anyways my apt was at 6:40pm and I arrived 5mins early. And then after checking in, I had to wait outside in the rain, in the dark. I understand they don't want guests waiting in the lobby or sitting in the chairs (due to covid). But I felt like if I stood inside in the corner (furthest from the reception desk which was over 6ft away) it would have been okay to make this exception. But also I waited outside from 6:35 to 6:53pm when my apt was 6:40. Now I'm sure this wasn't Brays fault, but I made an apt for a reason. So it was frustrating to wait nearly 20mins outside in the rain. If I knew it was running longer, I could have waited in my car or came slightly later. But really that was my only complaint. Other than that I am satisfied with the quality of work I received.
